RE: I don't know what day it is anymore...

Kev is a bipolar bear coupled with ADHD. All the impatience you described with a healthy rage issue. Ah well. We had a surprisingly calm talk last night given the subject matter. Apparently he went and got his meds. Says he will go back to therapy, will apologize to the neighbor who witnessed his meltdown, and seems to understand that this was a bad, bad mistake in regard to trying to maintain his place in my home. We'll see how combative he gets.

If they get Pambo's device to be functional without frying her brain, it is a help. There is no cure for her condition, there is only pain management. I got a text late yesterday afternoon informing me that she was in the hospital since now she can't activate the device without seizing. I went by there after work and talked to Richard for a couple hours. All that was going on for her yesterday was pain management. She woke up for about a minute and talked to me. Got a text from her this morning asking if I really was at the hospital or did she just dream that I was there. Still trying to get an answer as to whether she is still there or if they released her.

Wow, that's gotta suck for her. Hopefully this total failure will make them try to fix it rather than just trying another adjustment.

When functioning correctly, does it make the pain go away completely, or just lessen it to a livable state?

There have been brief periods where she says she has been pain free, but that was back when it was first implanted, and sometimes for very short intervals right after it gets reprogrammed, like maybe an hour or so. For the vast majority of the time it lessens the pain.

We have a chance of storms today. I hope it rains. We are dry . . . and I could use more photo opportunities.

It's beautiful here today. 77 and mostly sunny. It's supposed to be in the 90's this weekend though. Great for opening the pool, not so great for the jogging I need to do.

Good day, all... I've finally gotten through most of my work absurdity for the day. Got a few minute things to do before I leave, but then I have to be back at 10PM to do another little thing. Ah well...

Hope everybody is having a great day.

Dag nab it!

I have a little wood project that I am finishing up today. It is replacing the side of a computer desk that got totally destroyed. It has lots of detail work with ventilation holes, shelf support holes, drawer support, etc. I was doing the final touches, one of which was a little piece of wood to serve as the door stop. I grabbed my air nailer, took out the 2" nails and put in some 5/8" nails. I put the piece on, gave it a shot and apparently there was still one 2" nail "in the chamber". The long nail went all the way through and came out the back side making a nice, big blow out area in the plywood veneer.

I'm gluing the blow out chunk back in, but it will still be visible. Fortunately, that area is where the drawer goes so it won't show once it's all back together, but I hate to send it out that way. On the other hand, I'm NOT redoing that whole side piece for that one spot behind a drawer.

I'm still mad I didn't double check to see that there wasn't a long nail broken off the stick in there.

Thursday at last! Good day everyone. I hope it is a good one for everybody.

Gonna try to slide out a little early today since a roofing contractor is supposed to be meeting with my insurance adjuster to see if we can come to a deal on a new roof for my house. I'm really hoping we can make some magic happen!

Otherwise, most of my stuff for today is done... just waiting for time to tick down. Little Man informed me earlier that he will be taking me out to lunch for my birthday. Free lunch is good lunch.

I too am waiting for the end of the work day and my nice four day weekend. It will start tonight with our first dart night. All tonight consists of is some free grub, usually hamburgers, and beer, soda or water (as long as we are still outside). We'll recap last year's results, get our teams, pick a captain, get the theme and pick a team name. After that most of us will probably migrate into the bar and stay there for a while. I am looking forward to sleep in day tomorrow. Then I have a lot of stuff to do during the day Friday. Then it is an eat, drink and live-it-up weekend.

Man, what a busy day. This morning I had to go over to the printer that's going out of business. Then had a customer who is also a friend stop by about some t-shirts. Then, had to take some samples over to another customer, which is a place I used to work for. Then my customer/friend stopped by again about some sweatshirts. In a bit, a customer who I went to high school with is stopping by to pick up a rush order. Sheesh!

smile I'm planning an adult beverage or however many I can get out of the remains of my bottle of tequila and bottle of margarita mix... probably starting shortly after 4. Tomorrow will be sleep in, then make arrangements for my grandson's b-day party on Sunday... then more beveraging. I'm more or less planning a whole week of, "dear liver, I'm sorry" events. Just kidding... though they are already starting the office pool on what bodily injury I will suffer on this vacation. The odds on favorite is "cutting injury" based on the fact that I plan on doing some drywall work.

I'll take that bet. It sounds like a good one. I don't think you can break your butt while drywalling. (Yes, drywalling is a word. Because I said so.) You are too advanced in skills to smack yourself with a hammer. However, perhaps not advanced enough not to intentionally hit Kev with it. We both know he deserves it. You won't be the roof so you can't fall off that.

I keep saying that I will give my liver something to think about but I know it won't be true. I have a few adult beverages over the weekend. But unless something is going down way too easy, I won't have much. All talk and no action. That is who I am.

It has been a very long time since I had more than a few drinks in one day. Mostly I have too many things to do the next day to even think about such a thing. Besides... I'd have to hit the liquor store to do me any serious beveraging. Not saying the liquor store run won't happen ... but I seriously do have a lot of stuff in mind to do over the next week or so.

Might have to knock back a few and "accidentally" hit someone in the head with a hammer. There might be a nail gun misfire. Just kidding... I might think about it with a smile on my face, but I wouldn't seriously do it.

If it comes to pass that you are going to owe your liver an apology, just remember: 4 Tums, 4 Advil, Vitamin B-12, and a Benadryl.

Nah. I threaten but don't usually follow through. It'll be nice to have some family and a few friends over on Saturday. You guys are welcome to come over, eat, drink and be merry too. There will be plenty of food. Ooo - and cake. Mmmmm cake.

It's a birthday weekend! Hope it's a good one for the birthday gals.

It's cool, cloudy, and damp here today. I didn't sleep very well last night so I stayed under the covers an extra hour this morning. Shame on me.

Happy belated birthdays ladies!

Well, I'm beginning week 3 post op and other than the ocassional twinge of slight pain, I have to say I'm feeling pretty good. I took off one whole week and slept a lot. Last week I came into work for half days. And what luck, this is a short week!

I'm having trouble getting projects put to bed because some managers are slack at getting their paperwork in. And I have a big fire to put out with one of our customers who changed their purchasing management system. I get blanket orders from the plant in TX good for 1 month; I bill weekly referencing that purchase order, but then they turn around and issue a new purchase order for the weekly bill. I have no idea how they will pay or if they will kick it out because they can't cross reference. Right now, I hate them...

Hope everyone is doing well.

Considering I'm usually the only one in the office until after nine, sometimes as late as 10, this one especially rings true.  I've become so used to it that when anyone comes in before 9, or worse, before I get here, that it throws my whole day off.  Today everyone was here by 9.  I'm hoping that means they plan to take long lunches or leave early, that's usually the case.
