RE: I don't know what day it is anymore...

Good day, all. Yesterday was all kinds of crazy, so I'm hoping to have a quieter day today. If not, then I just keep reminding myself that there are only 3.5 workdays left in this year for me. I can't even begin to explain to you how badly I really do need a break, even if it is just to not have to get out of the bed before the booty crack of dawn for a while.

I've considered a second job as well. The problem is that my first job dominates so much of my free time that it would be near impossible to pull off having a second job.

Ah well... Thursday on, peeps. Have a great day.

Yeah, you're on call a lot Mema. I don't see how anyone could have a second job while on call for the first one.

I was thinking last night how I don't have time for a second job anymore, but then I realized that once I left college, I've pretty much always had a second job. First, it was freelance design, and pretty much always has been. Even though that's my day job, I still do freelance design here and there, usually just for friends now though. And then when I was working at COTA, I worked for a spa in the evenings and on weekends for a while. And then I did the seasonal tax prep thing at Jackson Hewitt.

And now, it's basically a non paying second job, with the writing and NaNoWriMo gig. But hey, that could turn into some real money someday.

That is also part of my problem. I am 30 miles from home. Most days my minimum drive time is two hours. That makes it hard to get something at home in the evenings. If I were doing retail at this time of year it may be okay since places are open later. That won't work come January. Andf then, if I were to get something close to work I would have to drive another 60 miles a day on the weekends becuase you know any part timer would end up working weekends. This is a major reason why I haven't forced myself to get something done. It would be so much easier to simply win a big lottery jackpot.

Almost afternoon all. I know I am looking forward to having tomorrow off. It is supposed to be 50* and sunny tomorrow. I need sunshine.

I think because of all the extra work I will have to do because of the technical termination, I am not really looking forward to the new year.

Good day all.

We went to see The Hobbit last night. I think I had my expectations too high. I was really glad we went to the midnight showing, and the movie was enjoyable enough, but it's a lot more like a prequel to The Lord of the Rings than I was expecting, other than the stand-alone, more lighthearted book. Everyone else really liked it though, so I think I'm being too picky. I definitely want to go up to Indy to see it at the higher frame rate to see what that's like.

Since I stayed up late last night, I took the morning off. Well, of course, the sky is falling. There's also a friend's girlfriend that's creating drama that I'm being sucked into. I wish they would just break up already.

Hey all! I just wanted to stop in and wish you all a Merry Christmas! I attempted to do cards but there was no way I was going to get them done this year. Why? Because DH and I bought a house in July and things have been crazy and the basement is full of boxes and most of my craft items are still packed. We started this process I think in February and it took that long to get into the house and no one was living there. It was CRAZY! We actually were homeless for a bit because our lease was ending and our mortage person gave us a date that was completely false. We has some stuff in a storage unit, our aquarium and freezer at a friend's house, us staying at my mom's during the week and up at his mom's on the weekends. It was all very stressful. Despite all that and the many things DH has to fix because people didn't know how to do a proper "flip", we love it!

I've been thinking of you all and decided to stop in and say "Hey"! I hope you are all well. smile

Morning all. We have more rain/drizzle and fog. At least it is over 40* today. We are supposed to get some warm temps for this time of year but of course it comes with the rain. In the meantime, I am counting down the final work days of the year.

Hi Woo!!! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you guys have a Merry Christmas too!

Good day all.

I would be in a fairly good mood today if the Etch would read her emails. The last one she ignored had a bullet list in it of what I needed from her, I don't know how to make it any easier. One of the things I said I needed from her, she called this morning to ask if I was doing it. I said, "I assumed you were doing it." She said, "I assumed you were. See what assuming does?" So I replied, "I assumed you were doing it because I asked you if you would in the email." She changed the subject.

Good day, all. (deep breath) Only 2.5 workdays, including today, left of the year for me. I CAN DO IT! Of course, it is only 10:30 and I feel as though I could do it better with a nap... but still. Gonna hammer throught this day one way or another. I have a few minutes of work tonight at 11, but that should be over quickly.

As some of you saw on FB over the weekend, Theresa passed away yesterday. We were told on Friday that she had taken a hard turn and that it would be very soon. Made the trip to see everybody on Saturday, and spent a few minutes saying our final goodbyes. Got the call just after 5AM on Sunday saying that she was gone. We went back down to be with everyone for a while. The boys, of course, are devastated. I'm not really sure how this is going to go for them. Theresa didn't want any kind of a service to be held in her honor, so there won't be that big, emotional event. In a way I guess that is good because it saves the potential for a lot of the typical family stress related to such things, but on the other hand it just seems kind of like "well, that is that". I guess there is no way to deal with the end of a person's life that doesn't ultimately seem very awkward.

Woo... HEY THERE! Nice to hear from you. Congrats on the house! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

Mz... always seems weird when they make a prequel. It kind of feels like they are just trying to wring every possible dime out of a story line. I guess we have George Lucas to thank for that.

Fuzzy... deep breath... you can do it too!

Everybody, let's try and have a great day.

My condolences Mema. Yeah, it is weird when there's not some sort of service, but I can understand not wanting some big affair. Is she being cremated? Maybe a little family get together to spread her ashes or something?

Yes, she is being cremated. But here is where it gets a little strange for me: From what I am told, the plan is to give her ashes to her oldest grandchild... Cody. I believe Cody is 12 or 13 years old. Their reasoning being that he was so very close to her because she was the one who mostly took care of him up to this point. To me, it seems like he might be a little young for being presented with Grandma's ashes... but hey... not my call. I just smiled and nodded when they said that is what the plan is.

On the whole, since it is what Theresa wanted, I don't see a problem with there not being a service. It just makes it a bit awkward for other people who wish to express condolences. For example, Pambo asked me where she could make a donation or send flowers. Well, there is no central point really for flowers. She could send them to Theresa's home, but they would not know who Pambo is probably. I don't think they have ever met her. And at that, the boys might or might not hear about it. There isn't a particular fund she was associated to that I know of. Something like the Humane Society would seem appropriate given her love of animals, but then who do you send the "a donation in honor of " notification to? Same problem. I gave her the boys' addresses and suggested she just send sympathy cards. They know her, so it will make sense to them.

Thank you. It is sad, but the up side is that she is no longer suffering. They had her heavily medicated these last few days, so by all accounts she went peacefully, with family and friends around. Can't really ask for a better way to go than that, I'd suppose.

Thank you. I failed to say that earlier, but I do appreciate it... was so busy being creeped out at the thought of the kid with the 'Urn-O-Gramma' sitting in his room.

Yesterday's rained has moved out. The fog and mist have burned off. The sun is out and it is around 50*. I like it.

It was supposed to get warm here today, but it's only 37 right now.

I'm also out of coffee. I think my headache is caffeine withdrawal.

(OH SWEET MOTHER OF PEARL I am ready for this day to be over!!! )

Good day, all. It is Tuesday, but with the funky stench of Monday all over it. According to The Weather Channel app on my phone, it is sunny and 49* here. I'm hoping that is correct as I have finally made it to lunch time and I need to go wash the filth off my car from all of this weekend's travels.

I keep reminding me that I just don't have but about 7 work hours left of this year, and 3 of that will be done from the comfort of my home tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, apparently my area is in for some snow after 9PM. NOAA.gov says 1-3 inches. The Weather Channel says it might rain. Either way... I'll be at home hiding from the world for a bit.

Hope everyone else's day is progressing to their satisfaction.

That is the feeling of a few of us around here waiting for the week to be finished. I have two days plus whatever is left of this supposed work day.

In the possibly good news column... my insurance company called a bit ago. It seems my Harley will be done by this weekend. The dealership is just waiting to get the saddle bags back from the paint shop.

I would like to know which one of you knew that the sun would go away and it would be raining again and didn't want to tell me? I believe it has been this way for two hours now. So much for the sun.

Hey Y'all.

I got a call from my dad that they were moving grandma into a different room within the rest home. It's a much smaller room so we had to move some of her personal things out and back to her house. She recently fell again and they are thinking this smaller room might help her since there is less open space to roam around. It also has carpet which should help her footing compared to the hard tile floor in the other room.

It's nice here today (50), but the weather doods are saying we might get 3" snow tomorrow.

She seemed pretty happy. The new room is right across the hall from one of the nurses desks. I think she liked having the activity to watch right outside her door.

Good day, all! And I have just finished work year 2012! Now the mad dash to finish Christmas preparations... must clean the house, bake cookies, finish shopping, wrap presents, figure out where the heck Christmas dinner will be and what I need to do for that (not my house, please...). First stop for today will be lunch with the office gang at 11:30, then grocery store, then pick up my friend Marissa and give her a ride home... buy part of my brother's Christmas present from the Caribou Coffee she manages in the exchange...

Oh yeah.. supposed to be making beef stew today too. DANG... I gotta get moving!

It's times like this when I hate my job. I've got all these Christmas orders that aren't produced in house, and there's something wrong with every one of them. The guy who prints our banners just told me he can't print a banner bigger than 4' right now. But he didn't tell me that until I sent in an order. When will he have it fixed? Not anytime soon. My embroiderer just told me today that the logo my customer wants on the front of his hats won't fit. The order was due to us last Monday.

It's snowing. It started about noon. We were on the edge saying that we could get around 2". Now' we're in a winter weather warning and might get 5". It's looking like it will be a white Christmas after all.

The rural power calendar was in my mailbox today. It's made up of photos submitted by customers. I gave them a few of my photos thinking they MIGHT pick one to use. I somehow ended up with three separate months (May, June, & July), and a lightning photo on the back. They must have been hurting for submissions this year.
