Laura and I have hit a bit of a snag, but we're working on it really hard. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to get people for Christmas when you have no idea what they want LOL I need suggestions as I haven't even started shopping yet LOL

I hate giving gift certificates for Christmas! I give gift certificates or take people out to dinner for their birthday. But for Christmas, I think people should have something to unwrap.

When I'm in doubt about what to get someone, they usually get some sort of food.

No, like cookies, or candy, or chocolates. Or, if I know what they drink, I've also given a case of pop, a variety pack of beer from a local brewery, a bottle of wine, a bunch of those single shot hard liquors, etc.

I do agree. I try to have something that needs to be unwrapped for Christmas. If I have to, I will wrap the gift cards assorted ways.

A big tip for anyone whose family draws names: Our family makes it a requirement that on the slip of paper you write your name on, you also write 3-4 gift ideas.

So one of the people we drew this year only listed gift cards. Well, we know he likes specialty beers, and our limit is $25, so we're getting him a $20 gift card and a 6 pack from our local brewery. That way he still gets a gift card, but he also has something to unwrap!

I like the gift certificate idea, but I think it depends on who you are giving the gift to.  Some people find it to be crass.  Around here we have a dinner theater you can buy a "Great Night Out" gift certificate for... dinner and a show for 2 people.

If gift cards are asked for, then that is what they get. But I always try to find that one small gift they aren't expecting too. That is the best one to unwrap.

I saw an ad for something I'm going to look into. It was from Linen & Things I believe or Bed, Bath & Beyond. It was a set of 4 coasters. Cost is around $15 but the cool thing is that you can slip a picture into the coaster. I'm thinking of getting that for my mom and sister. Put in family pictures, vacation pics, pet pics stuff like that. I like the fact that you can make it personal!!!!

Yep, anyone who wants to save will have to hold down your control button and press your print screen button. Then go to your image program (Paint works), paste, crop as needed, then upload to the internet to share with us!

Okay. You all wanted to see what I look like, so I have rolled the avatar. I would make it bigger in here but I have not been able to get that just quite yet. I will work on it.
