ya, how old is she? we took Corbin last year--he was 2 and he freaked.... we didn't buy the picture. it would have been mean. we'll try again this year....
I have a coworker who says she keeps a running blog of my bad mother moments... it's a joke from when she met my brother, who says I tell too many stories about my daughter so he's always got his ear to the ground for my bad moments.
We're fortunate that meeting Santa has always been on casual terms. We usually take a train ride at the local train in town where they have Santa Train Rides, so Santa just wanders the cars of the train handing out candy canes... no need to get too close if you don't want to. And you can bring your own camera, so they aren't soaking you for cash either!
We're going up to Boyd's Bear Country in Gettysburg, PA this year. They have recreated the scene from Christmas Story, where you climb the steps to get to Santa and then have to slide down the slide, with a twist that you slide into a vat of bears. Can't wait!
Oh, will Santa push you down the slide with his boot while telling you that you'll poke your eye out! The adults will get a kick out of that, though I don't know if the kids would...
I'm sure half the adults in the line will be repeating those lines enough to scare the kids to death by the time they get up the steps! I doubt one kid will ask for a Red Ryder BB Gun!!
