Philly Toddler Brings Crack to Daycare By Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA - A 2-year-old boy was removed from his family and his mother could face charges after the child handed his daycare teacher two packets of crack cocaine, and a search of his jacket pocket turned up nine more, police said.
The boy's mother was taken in for questioning when she came to pick him up at the end of the day Friday. Police said she could be charged with endangering the welfare of children.
The toddler talked about the drugs, but it wasn't clear how much he understood. According to police, he said he took the packets off a table at home.
"I don't consider any 2-year-old really having a clear sense of what they had in their possession," said Capt. John Darby of the Special Victims Unit.
A police search of the home, where the boy lives with his mother, 5-year-old sister and at least one other adult, yielded a pound of marijuana and a small amount of crack cocaine, Darby said.
The toddler and his sister were placed with the city family-services unit.
And wait a sec, this is a two year old! So not only apparently doing and dealing drugs while kids are around, this kid somehow got 11 packets of coke off of the table and got them all the way to daycare. I'm sure he was being watched really well!
I do not believe in the death penalty for drug charges, but in this case
The punishment better be severe, but somehow I see things like this fall through the cracks. They try to save the family and spare society the expense of jailing the mom. But they never have enough resources to help the family succeed
You know, I stand by this theory I have that I call the Darwin law. If someone shows that they are unfit to be a parent, they should be castrated so they can never have children. But that's a little harsh, I know...
No I agree- male and female! I believe that too. If you really turn your life around and can provide for another family later in life- then you may try to adopt. There defintely does not need to be second chances.
If you think about it Dylan, I'd bet most of the people who shouldn't have kids didn't make that concious choice. They just ended up with a kid because of yet another bad decision.
