Please help settle something I was discussing with a female member of this forum, who shall remain nameless, unless she wants to reveal herself.
If I'm recalling this correctly...when I was a teenager back in the '80s I, and pretty much every other guy I knew, thought Patty Smyth was, for lack of a better term, pretty much of a 'hottie.' She says she's never heard anyone else claim this opinion, and I happen to know she knows a lot of guys who have no embarrassment about expressing their opinion about if they think a celebrity is "hot."
So...
Were I and my friends alone in our appreciation of Patty Smyth...an isolated group of guys in Connecticut out of touch with the world OR was our sentiment shared elsewhere???
Please help answer this burning question for me!!!
She isn't bad, Sorry Marky, I wouldn't go as far to say she was hot, Maybe she's just not my type. But I wouldn't kick her off the salad bar for eating crackers or anything!

Sorry Fuzzy, we can't seem to see eye to eye on who we think is hot. But, almost every girl likes Johnny Depp (myself included) so how about a picture of him?
Debbie Harry, who ironically happens to share several characteristics with Patty:
Great voice, small breasts, huge round head... However, Debbie is hot while Patty is cute. (My opinion of course.) This is an interesting debate...

I'm surprised to see Brad Pitt didn't come up here anywhere.
It's also encouraging that a 40 something guy like Johnny Depp makes the list.
Actually, Sparky, she's not always blonde, and looks good with any hair color anyway. But would she have made a "hot" Princess Leah? Now that's a good question. Someone should get creative with Photoshop, and paste Princess Leah's hairbuns on a picture of Terri, so we could get an idea of what she would've looked like had she won the role. See, these are the stupid things I would do if I had more time...

To me, women can have three different looks: Cute, Pretty, and Hot (sexy) And personality is part of it as well.
To me, "hot" means that high level of sex appeal. A head turning, traffic stopping kind of look.
"Pretty" is more of a refined, very clean, nice natural features look.
"Cute" is more of a "sweet" look. Still looks great with no makeup, jeans and a t-shirt.
For example, I would consider Delta Burke "Pretty". Even when she was at her heaviest, she was still pretty. I wouldn't call her cute or hot, just pretty.
Madonna . . . she's far from cute and she's not pretty, but she has a level of "hotness" to her because of her personality and raw sex appeal.
Sara Rue is super cute and pretty but I wouldn't call her "hot".

Not only does it make sense, but I agree completely with the first 2 women. (I'm unfamiliar with Sara Rue, so I can't catagorize her.)
