Had some interviews.  Flew to Dallas, Salt Lake, Chicago and Orlando in the past few days.  But, I really do not want to move back to the snow. I can afford to hold out for a while, but am supposed to have my surgery next week, my back can't really take that cold weather.  It has become a great barometer.  I can wake up in the morning and tell you how many clouds are in the sky. Thought I would take advantage of a few days off.  I can't be too choosy---it does not look good when you are unemployed for more than a month.

Thanks for thinking of me.  All of the jobs descibed above require extensive travel.  I got one offer for $170,000 a year, but I would leave every Sunday night and come back every Friday night.  It's a consulting company.  Travel would be constant 85% of the year, guaranteed.  It's a lot of money, but it would mean I would only be home two months of the year.  I just can't take it despite the money.  I need to be closer to home.

I am bound and determined to be back to normal in a week or less.  Although I am told three weeks.

Thanks for the update. Feel blessed that you have some opportunities. I pray that God will lead you in the right direction. It sounds like he is already making you doubt a poor coice.

Good luck with your surgery- we are here for you!

thanks dave for the bump.

that is the one thing that gets me about work, no matter what the wage is, you earn it through sacrifice, risk, uncertainty, and at the cost of the rest of your life, and your peace of mind. If your salary is $170,000 a year, well then you are putting forth at least that much for the money, at the expense of everything else in your life. Heck, its easy to be overwhelmed at a half or even a third of that salary...

I once had a professor tell me "you're a good writer. But there's no money in poetry. Even for those who teach others, inspire them to follow their dreams, and tell them 'you're a good poet, there's no money.' But maybe because there's no money in it, there's its redeeming quality. It's pure."
