What: The corn husker was used to strip off the husk or outer coating of the corn. The fingers went through the holes and the blade on the bottom stripped off the husk. There were many varieties of corn huskers. Husking corn was done mainly for field corn used to feed animals. Sometimes it was a social event with people gathering to husk corn and visit with neighbors.
