What is the longest friendship you have going?

JD and JR made me think of this-

For me it is Carla- best friends since the day I moved to Chicago in 1974- so this coming summer it will be 32 years! She is still there, but we are still close and when we talk- it is like nothing has changed.

RE: What is the longest firendship you have going?

Wow, nothing even CLOSE to that for me Ruby.

If a friend can be someone you were close with once, and now talk to only once every couple of months, or even once a year, then my longest friend would be Joe.  I worked with him at my first job in 1987, so that would be almost 19 years.

If by friend you mean someone I talk to on a regular basis it would be Dylan, whom I've known since maybe 90.  So only 16 years.

I don't know ANY of my childhood or high school friends anymore.  In fact, I pretty much wrote them all off the day I graduated.

My longest friendship (not counting Mz, we've been friends since day 1!) would have to be with my friend Jessica, 15 years and counting.

Before that was my friend Lisa, we had been friends since I was 3, but then my senior year of high school, she decided to steal my identity, and that definately ended our friendship. I haven't seen her since I found out, and trust me, she doesn't want to see me...

I've known my buddy tom since probably 1984- weren't really good friends until '85 or 6- but that would be nearly 22 yrs.

My friend Rebecca I've known since 1991- wow 15 yrs.

Riggs 11...

I did too, but not by choice- we moved here after I graduated and that kinda made it hard. Last time I was up there, it was amazing how many are still friends. I missed out on that, raising the kids together and stuff. But she and I were inseparable all our lives. We lived one block apart and that made it eaiser to stay friends and kinda had no choice thing. WE rode the bus together, etc... She was the homecoming queen and valedictorian, very popular obviously, but I was different. I was friends with everyone- jocks, stoners, outcasts... but our friendship remained intact through everything. When I was down on my luck and she was getting married, she paid for me and Zach to fly to Chicago, she paid for a hotel room for us and had her mom babysit Zach the whole time. She also bought my dress and had my hair done for me. She is the best.

I work a lot of hours, don't really do a whole lot during the work week. But its always good to see friends, they remind you of who you are, irregardless of all else.

My friend Mike and I have alot in common.

Both of our Dads are the same age, and were once milk men (so we can say we were the milk mans kids)

our Brothers are the same age, our moms are the same age and went to beauty college together. Our Grandmas were neighbors, we have the same initials and used to drive the same car at one time.

believe it or not my Best friends are my cousins. which makes 33 years apiece as I am the youngest.

I can tell them anything and its almost as if we were reading each others minds.

I had not seen them since 88 when i went home to Texas back in June 05 and it was like nothing had changed. we picked up right where we left off.

My best friend pam I have known since 1994 so 11 years

My friend Patrick I have known since 86 so almost 20 years.

I hava tons of friends but those are the main ones that I still talk to on a regular basis that are longer than 8 years.

My mother has had her best friend Jerri since 1967 which means 39 years for them.

My friend of the greatest length of time is a lady named Debbie.  I've known her for 16 years.  We used to be really close, but now we talk about once every 2 or 3 months.

Second are my friends Mash and Joe... 14 or so years, almost as long as I've worked for Sprint.  We started with the company in the same department within a few months of each other.  Can't remember who I met first, so I lump them together.

Third is my other best friend, Doug.  I think I've known him for about 12 years.  We met in college.  Had almost all of our classes together.  Right after he retired from the Navy, I helped him get a job here.  Between him and Pambo, I've had tons of fun coming to work for the last 5 years.

I've known Pambo for 10 years, but it seems like my whole life.  No doubt she will be around for the rest of my life, so that's what's important.

I think its the old saying. Husbands/wives/girlfriends/boyfriends come and go but friends are forever.

Do you work for Sprint Wireless?

Actually I work for I guess what you would call the core network "wireline" side of the business.  I started out in the old Long Distance Division. After several years, we were sort of merged in with PCS.  I was just starting to learn some about the wireless network, then we started cutting deals with cable companies to provide local service.  With the merger, they split LD and PCS apart again.  Since I have more experience on the LD side, I'm with the core network side still, supporting all of their domestic and international voice services platforms.

My policy on friends is that once you find a good one, treasure them forever.  I can't even picture my life without Pambo and Doug... wouldn't want to.  I read something somewhere about friends today. The general idea was that the truest reflection of who you are is who you keep as your friends.  I guess I must be a pretty good person based on keeping company with those two.
