She picked up a couple pre-cooked prime ribs, and adding baked potatos and corn.

I start my low cholesterol diet tomorrow.

I probably should do dishes tonight . . . its easier to do it by myself than have the boy "help".

Happy New Year all! We went over to a friends house for a pot luck dinner (I brought cup cakes), then went to a gay bar/dance club. It was pretty fun. I'm getting old though, I barely had anything to drink, and we ended up leaving around 1:30 because I was tired of all the loud music. Am I a party pooper or what?

I did think of you last night, Thumper. I was at a gay bar, wearing beads, dancing to Manhattan Transfer's Twilight Zone!!

Nah Mz, you're not a party pooper. Most of us didn't get that far. Staying up late is no issue for me, but the crowded bar and loud music would drive me out pretty quickly.

I'm with web. Some call it aging, I think its more about maturing! Its fun to be loaded and 21 in a bar of loaded 21 yr olds. You get a few years past that, and its sort of annoying.

I guess I am an exception to you guys. I was out until 2:30 this morning and I didn't come in until 4am the night (er, morning) before. I may be turning into a dirty stay out. It just has to be done. It is just nice to sit with people, talk, hang out in general and drink. Party on!

aw I hear you fuzzy. I am ALL FOR comfortable places where you can actually sit and talk, have some elbow room, enjoy the band. The last time riggs and I went out to see Dylan play, it was downright pleasant. I guess I was grumpy on the places that make you wait outside to pay a cover to get in, then the bar is 8 people deep on all sides so it takes you a 1/2 hour to buy $10 beers. Yelling over the music "WHAT?! YEA!? WHAT!? WHAT?! NO!!!"


 


guess I'd rather be refined than hip!

Yeah, I'm the same way JD. I don't mind staying out late and drinking, but make it a bar where you can sit around and drink and talk. One of my favorite places around here to go is the Irish Lion, which is an Irish pub/restuarant, where you can sit around, drink, eat, etc. And, you don't even have to stand at the bar to get a drink, they wait on you! And the music is quiet and usually Celtic. Sometimes I just take a book and sit in a booth by myself and sip some irish coffee.

Willie-Joes is an alright bar (yep, The Wina-Freds play there a lot). It is a lesbian bar, and it's not very big, but it's a venue that repeatedly lets them play at. They don't have hard liquor, just beer and wine coolers, and the music is always loud. The acoustics aren't all that great, there is no stage, and it's always cold. We usually only stick around for the show then end up heading elsewhere later.
