Pennsylvania - only provides street addresses for the sexually violent predators. MapSexOffenders.com will be mapping this information as soon as possible. The SVPs represent only about 100 of over 7000 offenders. We encourage the citizens of Pennsylvania to contact their legislator to have this law changed.

I know its illegal to harrass these molesting freaks, but I'm having a hard time resisiting grabbing some eggs and egging the homes that show up around me.

The sad thing about this, the one closet to me, just graduated from my school with a degree in Religion! He is married too- I did not know that when I had to meet with him, but we had a horrible degree check. He got mad at me cause he could not add up to 125 and needed another course. Now if he comes in, we get nervous and make my boss help him!

Make sure you check what their crime is before you start egging houses. I had a friend who was a sexual offender, and I had no problem hanging around him. His charge was sex with a minor, he swears the 15 year old said she was 18, and in that case, I believe him. I have a feeling that happens more often than we realize.

Now, the guy convicted of sexual battery who lives less than a mile away from me scares me, as would the child molester if I had kids.

I was going to make that exact point Molly, I think sometimes these types of site can make people go hunting for people who they believe must be a danger to them and there family but that's not always the case. Sure a lot these people are just horrible but not always.

Molly & Ultimo, I think you're right on.

There really should be a better system rather than just lumping them all iin together.

I know that a lot of times it's an 18 or 19 year old male that had sex with a 15 or 16 year old thinking they were older. That's not really a "sexual assault" unless it was forced. But on the books it looks the same.

I have a friend here that out of spite during the process of splitting up, his wife reported that he had sexually abused one of her daughters (from a former marriage). I know without a doubt that he didn't do it, but in the courts, it was his job to prove his innocence rather then the county prove his guilt. The county had deeper pockets and finally he was out of money and could not afford a lawyer any longer.

They made him a deal that if he'd plead guilty, to child abuse, they'd stop too. He had no choice. Now he's labeled as a child abuser and his ex-wife is happy because he spent every last dime he had . . . which was what her goal was in the first place.

That's another negative side of the way the system is set up.

We're forced to consider the possibility of all these lesser offenses, which makes it harder to determine who the REAL offenders are.

I wouldn't care if your friend that you described lived next door, but I'd certainly want to know if a legitimate child molester or rapist lived next door. Right now I just have to assume the worst of anyone on the list.

maybe what these sites need to provide then, is the details of the crimes commited. Adding this detail to the database would seem to be key to the judgement the site wishes us to excercise. If I am given the details that the crime here is. e.g., an 18 yr old caught in a car with her 17 yr old boyfriend, (*what! I molested by my first girlfriend! I am SUCH A VICTIM I SHOULD GO ON OPRAH AND TELL THE WORLD).

I just want to know if the legally targeted individual that they want me to know about is a child-raper or a kid seduced by his older girlfriend in the eyes of the law..Details are needed here for people to make informed judgements.
