RE: Jeremy can you please

That reminds me. I have a couple recordings that I just emailed to you JR. Mz heard these a while ago but I didn't get them sent to you. They should be there now.

Thanks Web,

I just replied to your email.

You know, I was going to ask listeners that had the capability to record a little seasons greeting to the listeners, maybe push the forum at the same time, and play those around the holidays.

But with my Dad's health kind of going south we wound up doing nothing for the station for two months.

You know, anytime anyone has something they'd like to submit, please do. It doesn't HAVE to be like MzHartz's regular gig. If you just have something you want to share let me know. And if you have an idea for a regular gig we'd look at that too.

speaking of which, MZ I just thought of this. If you didn't already burn and send cds of your friend's bands, I totally forgot that I can burn the mp3s to disc here at work, and get them into the archives that way. if you want to just e-mail the files to me. still at jazz@freezeframeradio.com

Yeah, we still gotta do that, logistically it got hard though, because almost everyone wanted in, I only expected one or two people to want to volunteer.

For those of us that have been out of the computer business since 8 megabytes of ram, can you explain how we can do it? Or what we need? Thanks!

OK Sparky, hopefully you'll see this, if not I'll try to bump it up on Monday.

To record yourself into a digital file on your computer is really simple. First, you of course need a microphone. It should be plugged into the back of your computer (some computers have another input for them on the front as well) where the image of the little mic is, this is usually a pink one if your computer has them color coded.

Then, if you go START - PROGRAMS - ENTERTAINMENT - VOICE RECORDER there is a small program in windows that allows you to record an audio file, that can then be saved and emailed, burned, or whatever you want to do with it.

There are of course a ton of programs available too that allow you to do the same thing with better results. You can check those out at a site like download.com.

Or, perhaps Webguy has a lead on a good, cheap program.

We use Cool Edit, which is no longer around, but when it was available it was pretty expensive, more than you'd probably want to spend for just goofing around.

In the studio?

Sure. We can get a bunch of people in there. It's probably the second biggest room in the house.

Wanna Come Over?

Well, like i said, it's a pretty big room. I'm thinking it would take about two dozen people before it would be worth filming.
