Catching up part I

I know it has been awhile since I have been on the Forum, but believe it or not, I think of you guys all the time.

I hope everyone is well and I just thought it might be nice to catch up with some conversation...so...

MZ, are you still doing any writing?  What genre?  Short stories, novellas or novel?  Any good ideas brewing?

Web, how is your son Logan?  Is he playing baseball again this summer? How iis your bass playing progressing?  Still playing in Church?

TL, Have you made progress on the Lottery yet.  I am looking to get into the fast paced and rewarding career of lackey...keep me in mind if you win.  I also am waiting to be booked at Busch League.  Still think the Eagles can beat the Packers?

Mema, any projects left on the house?  How are your boys and grand kids?  Have you had the Harley out yet?  Still planning on writing your book on  Interesting roommate stories?

JR, Still on the Brewer bandwagon?  How has jean Segura looked?  Why is Axford still on the MLB club?  Still on 3rds?  Still a hard core Democrat?

Woo, how are things in the great  state of Michigan?  It will be Woo Christmas card time before you know it.  How early do you start that process?  I always thought that was a neat tradition.

Let the conversation ensue...

Hey now, you can't ask about us without giving your own update! How's married life treating you? You're in Colorado? What are you doing these days? Playing any music?

Yep, I'm still writing up a storm. The last book I published was Brains for the Zombie Soul, a parody of Chicken Soup for the Soul. It's been doing pretty well. There's a few events coming up where I'll have some good exposure. I've been taking belly dancing classes, and the troupe that the teacher leads has offered me table space at a couple events. (By the way, belly dancing is a BLAST!!)

My current project is a book of zombie fairy tales. I've written them all and am now in the editing stage. I hope to have that done by next month, when I plan to record them as an audiobook. I haven't come up with a good title for it yet though, although I have scored an awesome illustrator to draw me something for the cover.

And then on the backburner, I have a couple novellas that I wrote last November. Some day I'll put them with a few other stories and publish them.

I also have my first book, Sweet Addiction (the illegal chocolate one), that I plan to do something with someday.

And then this November, I think I'm going to write a modern fantasy about being stuck in time. I've had this idea in my head for a while, and I want to take a break from short stories and zombies.

Well I put somewhere that I actually didn't get any cards out last year. But I did start them last November. I just knew I wasn't going to get done in time. It killed me to do so but I threw in the towel. But that means I have a head start for this year. I do need to actually start working on them again if I don't want to drive myself crazy again. These ones are a lot of work. I don't know why I can't decide on something simple! :lauging: i have started working on cards as early as July before but as of late it's usually been in November and I frantically make them like a mad woman!

Michigan is Michigan. The main things going on with me are in the Woo Update thread. I'm always busy but I don't know what I'm actually doing. I think my life is pretty boring.

*OH! To those who would like a card please PM or text me your updated addresses! Even if it hasn't changed just make sure I have it. It will also help me with figuring out how many I need to make. I think I planned for only 60 and I may need to make more.

The boy is doing good. He played 5th-6th grade football again last fall (tackle & guard), and is in baseball again this summer. We're still in practice mode now, the first game is in about two weeks. He is signed up to also do "Fit Kids" this summer which is kind of summer P.E. at school. The Jr High football coach is the leader of that so they will start working on learning some plays and football fundamentals while getting physical exercise too.

Bass playing is going good. Yes, I'm still playing bass every Sunday. For the last year now, we've been broadcasting video and also putting video on YouTube of our services. The church's YouTube page is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4c-FF0CS6Zk0qZoHWjyuQA
We have a youth pastor now who both he and his son drum so we got a nice electronic drum kit. I've had to adjust my playing some to play with a drummer, but it's so much better having a full drum kit in the mix rather than just congas. This winter, we did a sound equipment make over and in that process go some really nice "personal mixer" in-ear monitors. We each can make our own monitor mix now which is awesome.

Otherwise, everything is about the same.

Hey there! In order: But of course! I am the poor woman's Sarah Winchester.... my house will never be finished. Just got the start date (literally within the last hour) for my big project of this year: 20' X 10' front porch. Looks like that will be installed over Memorial Day weekend. The boys are doing great. Chris is loving his job as the auto tech instructor at the highschool where he lives. Never thought that boy would want to be a school teacher, but apparently it is his dream job. Jeremy is working as a ranch foreman on a white tailed deer ranch. He absolutely loves that job. Right now it is birthing season, so he is really busy. The grandkids are fabulous... getting bigger and more fun by the day. The Harley is back to being road worthy after the wreck, but the weather hasn't been all that cooperative when I have free time to ride so no, not really. We'll see what the future brings now that the weather has broken. The roomie is still... well...himself. He has been trying to be nicer and more cooperative lately after getting several harsh doses of reality over the last several months. Not sure how long he will feel like being nice, but he is wanting to take the bike on a long ride next month so it is in his interest to not work my nerves too badly. I'm just patiently waiting for my annual end of May vacation. This year has flown right by, but I sure could use a break.

How you doin'?

Always a Brewer fan, even when I say I'm not.  Until they find a cure I'm stuck.  Jean Segura has been a rare bright spot.  Axford needs to eliminated one way or another.

Still on third.  Hating third.  Although in summer it's nice to be able to grill out and chill every afternoon.

No, I found the Democratic party has just drifted too far from my core beliefs.  I've been trying out life as a Conservative Republican the last few months.  I think it's gonna take.

Guess that just leaves me. Unfortunately, I gave made no progress towards getting that big cardboard check. Sad I know. I could also use an early retirement and then doing something fun and interesting. You guys know that if I win super big there is a little money for all of you. Alas, no lottery money, no sports bar and grill. The Eagles can't even beat themselves. And the Phillies don't know how to score with men in scoring position. no

So, Mz was right, tell us how you ended up in CO. I will assume the band has not fallen apart and you will be touring solo. If you are looking for some security work, we have an office in Lakewood. There is also an office in Colorado Springs of a company we acquired last year. I guess you will have to adjust to life in CO. I hear it is different.
