Riggs I hear you on hearing the voice before seeing the video and thinking wow that girl sure sounds cute!!! LOLOLOL!!!!


Here's one. I had a buddy in high-school who had a spiral notebook with that Poison album cover on it. We were been freshmen, the weirdest time in any kids life to be alive! So he goes, "Look at these hot rocker chicks, man...." I had no idea who they were, but said, "well I guess that one is cute"......Later on the band hit it big, yea they were guys, and this was for-ever-more a bit of awkwardness was never addressed by us ever again!


Any doubt we were sadly mistaken back then?? look at the cover!!

Lol, I had a few times that happened.

Some long haired chick walking down the street and I'm thinking she has a nice tush, then she turns around and she's a he!

The eighties were great, but the decade DID have a FEW flaws

that thumbnail pic doesn't do it justice, thump. the airbrushing is lost. they went out of their way to look girlie. I guess I was in that same sort of "is that a guy or a girl?" that we all had upon first laying eyes on the Boy George.

His name is Rikki Rockett, and believe me, he is a guy!  The first time I met him, all I could do was stare at his perfect butt.  Great body, great guy.  The best kind of guy, in my opinion.  I'm not even attracted to short-haired guys.  These days, Rikki has shorter hair, and looks a little more manly, but still very rock & roll.

I just don't see it, but I suppose that's a good thing. A VERY good thing.

I don't get the women liking long hair thing in general.

The last thing I want in a woman is for her to look more like a dude, so I can't understand why women would want their guy looking more like them.

I used to be really attracted to long hair guys- up until my husband- I have never dated anyone with short hair! I think the root to that obsession was more in the way my father felt. He hated guys with long hair- no matter how good the guy was, he could not get past the hair. So maybe I just wanted to stick it to him. But in hindsight- most, not all, but most of the time he was right!


 


Make up was out, unless they played in a band, but then only on stage!

Don't knock the ladies liking longer hair on the guys! Some guys can pull it off. My husband had a dreaded mullet, but I loved it! When he decided he needed a change and went to cut it off, I thought I was gonna cry! The stylist said do you want me to put it in a bag for ya-laughing at me. I liked the new haircut after I got over the shock.

I'm just a fan of hair in general.  I think it can be the most beautiful, sexy thing.  I can't understand why anyone (man or woman) would choose to have short hair. 


Make-up on guys:  I agree that I wouldn't like it generally, day-to-day. But for being in a band, photo shoots, that sort of thing - I love it. 


Besides, Rikki Rockett is a rock star, and always wanted to be a rock star.  And I for one, don't like for my rockstars to look like the gardener or cashier at the local Wal-Mart.  They should look special.  I mean, what would Ziggy Stardust have been if he looked like Joe Schmoe - like Ben Affleck or something?

Besides (See, now you guys have got me all riled up!  I'm like a posting maniac, here), why is having long hair "looking like a girl?"  I guess I don't see it as a gender thing.  Throughout history, guys have had long hair, too.  For those of you who believe in Jesus, he reportedly had long hair, right?

Hey, I'm betting if Norelco had been around in Jesus' day he would have shaved and trimmed his hair

I admit though, you're right, we all used to have long hair.

Then again we used to club the women over the head and drag them back to the cave for sex, so I don't know how much you stock you can put in that whole theory.

Yep, Mz's hubby has beautiful long strawberry blonde hair. It's gorgeous! But Mz's dad also had long hair (albeit, with a bad perm for a while there), and I don't know about her, but my mom was realy into hair bands in the 80's, so I was raised thinking long hair was sexy.

But some guys look good in long hair, and others don't. I couldn't imagine Mz's hubby with short hair. I've seen pictures of him with short hair, and he looks like a 12 year old.

And in a way, it's the rebel allure thing. It's unconventional, and I find that very sexy.

Now makeup is a different story. I could never imagine Mz's hubby wearing makeup. But makeup on men, for stage and photo shoots and such, should look different than makeup for women.
