I was just stunned to hear that the recall has been in effect for something like two months but even vet's haven't been aware of it until just recently.
I have a small dog myself, about 6 pounds, and according to the news reports one meal would probably kill her!
Luckily I've always used iams pet food, but still, scary!
Hey Ruby, what got to you? Was it the symptoms? Come on now, it's not like you're ACTUALLY eating breakfast during the Breakfast Club! Speaking of which, time to make some pancakes!
The sad fact is that if this were people food, there would be all sorts of public outcry, warning sirens, and lawsuits. From what I've heard, at least 75 dogs have died from this. It is shameful that this isn't being blasted across all possible communications outlets.

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
When I saw it on the news last night I knew I had to say something today. Just in case there's even ONE listener feeding their pet that food.
News media just didn't bother to cover it until dogs were dying.
In fairness to them, I know there are thousands of recalls every year, and they can't give full attention to all of them. But it's a shame there's not a way to get this information out quicker to dog owners.
Sparky- Sure, thanks, take away my ability to enjoy my pancakes
Fuzzy - I don't know why but I've never been a fan of big dogs. I think it's because of the mess they make outside. I also like how much fun small dogs can be, they just don't realize they're dogs and they jump around the house like a cat.
What are you all talking about. I am laying here in bed recovering, but you know I am not a big tv fan so I don't watch it. I have been reading during my lucid moments, Shakespeare. I have a big dog. She is a lab, shepherd mix.
It's funny too, she knows something is wrong, she lays right by my all day long and does not move. She won't eat unless I am giving her the food or drink unless I am telling her to drink. She even follows me into the bathroom, which I have because I am not able to move fast enough yet to close the door before she pushes her way in. I hate that and no matter how much I scold her she sits there and stares at me as I take care of business.
OK ignore the above, saw the other thread. I give my dog IAMS I think. All I know is that it is the green and white bag in the garage. Thank heavens California was not on the list.
