It occured to me that I have not had a "winter" drink all season! No eggnog (yick), no brandy slush, nada.


So I just got back from the grocery store. I have captain morgans spiced rum, some butter, some apple cider and some cinnamin and cloves.


I am going to make a couple HOT BUTTERED RUMS. I am going to get LIT UP ON WARM BOOZE!


I am not going to get trashed, wasted, that's just kids stuff. stupid. debilitating. but mark my words, I am going to get LIT UP!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

2 of these were so good last night!!


those with gas and oil furnaces- here is my tip o' the day. turn the temp down at night and have 1 or 2 hot buttered rums instead. they'll keep you warm, and you'll save money!

Never tried one.  I used to drink rum... then I got pukey drunk on it once.  I'm wondering if I can drink it again?  Hmmm....

mema- if you were to try this, go with a good quality spiced rum like captain morgans. I cannot stand regular rum, spiced is like a different booze all together.


the apple cider cuts the booze, the cinnamin, cloves, spice in the rum and butter sort of cover any sort of alchohol sting.  you just sip, enjoy, get a little warm.... & it gives you the warm & fuzzies all over!

Better, yet, come have hot buttered rum on my patio as we watch the princess palm trees sway gently in the early evening breeze cooling down from another 80 degree day. You all will be in your short sleeve shirts, and I have on my parka. It's killing me to not be able to play golf.  But it's nice to sit on the patio and read.

its quite quiet & pleasant fuzzy!


something salty- pretzels or smoked almonds-yea....the almonds. now thats a treat- hot buttered rums, falling snow, smoked almonds to munch on....
