I'll be watching. The US squad is the best they've ever fielded. I'm looking forward to it. I think they could surprise a few people. I'm expecting big things from mids Landon Donovan and DeMarcus Beasley.
I agree your team is better than it has been in the past but I'm not sure how well they will cope up against the likes of Italy and the Czech Republic both strong sides. I hope you make it through to the knockout stages though.
I would love to go. If I win the lottery for big money soon, I am so going. However, I am concerned for the US. They won their qualifying bracket but have drawn a very tough pool for the tournament. I don't think they are going to be able to repeat their 2002 performance. Italy, one of the soccer powerhouses is always tough and the Czech Republic is supposed to be very tough.
USA! USA!
Hey Ultimo - who is in the pool with England?

We have a good group really, we have to play Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago and Sweden. The Sweden game will be hard but we should win, the other two should not be a problem at all, but you never know.
Molly - should I win the big lottery so that I have money to go, you and Mz can come with me to Germany. Then there is no need for cable. It will be fun.

Fuzzy I think our guys have gotten a lot better than 2002. But it's probably that "American Mind Set" until they play then the reality sets in. I'm anxious to see Freddy Abu play but I guess that will have to wait till 2010.
This is the ball that will be used at the Worlc Cup, I think I will have to get me one. Its very snooth appraently because its only made of few sections instead of the normal panels stiched together. Should be fun for the goalkeepers to catch.
I like that. It does look snazzy. I may also have to get one. The goalkeeper in me wants to explore and play with it.
I have a ball from before the 2002 World Cup. I had a friend in the Army that was stationed in Korea for a year. He sent me the ball. It was before the Cup and I think they actually used a different ball. But I have it and it has never been outside the house (except when I moved and even then it was packed away).

I know thats what I was thinking.. but you can get a cheaper version mad the old fashioned panel way for alot less money, I guess its just the new technology that makes it cost more. I may still get one.
Well the time is nearly upon us, The World Cup is just around the corner and I am very excited, England play thier first game on June 10th againt Paraguay and the USA play Czech Republic on June 12th, obviously my main support is for England but I will be atching all the USA games too, I really hope you do well too, well unless you end up playing us!
I think it is SOOO COOOL that the English among us are excited for this! If its broadcast on one of the network stations I will sooo tune in for US and Brit games, mainly just to keep up with you guys on this thread!

JD, The World Cup is like the Super Bowl in this country, the whole country gets behind the team, well most of us anyway, and Pip, you are so right about Theo, he looked good in the friendly against Hungary the other day, I just hope he gets the time he needs to settle into his new found fame!
Also Aaron Lennon looks like a name for the future too, things are looking bright for England.
I am patiently awaiting the arrival of the games. June 9th will be here soon. The US plays its first game on June 12th.
Ultimo - I found the replica version of the World Cup ball in the store last week. It was around $25. They also had another version of the ball and that was $15.
USA! USA! USA!
If anyone here is interested in watching, you will find the games on ABC or ESPN.
