Well Ruby, the thought was there.

Yeah JR, Ruby sent that story to Mz earlier this week. She was going to record it on Tuesday, but the headache got in the way. It is a good story!

Oooooooooooh, I love this story.

I just can't understand people that have to be cruel to animals.

I mean, I'm not a PETA person who says you can't killa mouse, but at least be humane about it. Burning it alive is just evil.

This guy will think twice before he tries something like that again!

k- I am not tuned in, but I think I know of the story of which you are speaking. Did you hear they think he is lying now- he keeps changing his story.

Once when I was a kid, my uncle was going to grill out and he found to mice living in his gas grill. started it up and burned them right there in the grill. WHen they were ashes, he proceeded to cook whatever it was he was grilling out. I will never forget that.

JD!

That was my NEXT thought dangitall!

I was going to question some stuff.

I mean,

A) How far can a mouse get while in flames

B) Who catches a LIVE mouse in their house without the aid of a glue trap or something

C) How did the mouse get in? Does the guy leave his doors wide open? Does he have a big gap at the bottom of his door, and if so wouldn't you fix that so you don't get, oh I don't know, MICE IN THE HOUSE!

Mice have a way of getting in, whether you like it or not. That's why it's good to have cats. But still, burning anything alive is inhumane. I also think live traps are inhumane. The mice get stuck on the traps and just starve to death or go into shock. Get a mousetrap man, make it quick!

You know, I wonder if he thought the mouse was dead and he was just burning all of his trash.

I don't think so Molly,

Part of the oddity of this story was how the guy was so willing to tell the story of what he did.

I know I heard a coouple commentaters question why he'd be so straight forward about what happened because it makes him look like an idiot.

I think we need a picture of him. Maybe he has mutton chops and a mullet too.

Yes, that must be such a horrifying way to die.

Has anyone out there seen the 2003 version of the movie, "Willard"?  I would think that anyone who is grossed out by rats (which I, personally am not) would even have sympathetic feelings for them in this movie.

I have no problem with rats, but Williard creeped me out a bit. I think it's the guy that creeped me out though, not the rats.

I've got problems with his story.  First of all, if he was in fact burning leaves, why the heck was he in the house catching the mouse anyway? That would be kind of dangerous, particularly if he was burning them on the ground as opposed to in a container. Second, why would he throw a live critter on the fire?  Survival is a basic instinct among all species... what would make him think it would stay on the fire?  Third... if he saw a flaming mouse running toward his house, why the HE!! would he let it get there and start a fire?  Lastly, what would possess him to let his frigging house burn to the ground for???  If he was there and he saw what was happening, don't you think logic and reason would kick in at some point and cause him to get a hose, or something to beat out the flames with, or possibly do something downright reasonable like call the fire department????

Saw a forensics expert on Keith Olberman's show last night, saying it would be very unlikely that the mouse could've lived long enough to run into the house if he/she were on fire.

Totally!  Crispin Glover is one creepy dude, and they did a perfect casting job with him!

The scene where he 1st comes upon the poor mouse, stuck to the glue trap was so heartbreaking.  What a horrible way to die.

OK, but be prepared to feel somewhat squirmy when watching this movie.  It is weird, certanly not a typical Hollywood gorgeous people who live happily ever after type of film, and isn't for everyone.  But I liked it, and think it's certainly worth it, even if just to see Crispin Glover act.  He's really talented.

Umm so we think he might be lying? Maybe he fell asleep and the leaves caught the house on fire and he is trying to salvage his insurance claim???
