I've not read his book, but I have seen several news items on this.  Last night I watched Joe Scarborough interview the police officer who this guy claims beat him with his nightstick.  Not so much.  The policeman didn't even remember arresting this guy until people started asking him about it.  He had to go back and look at the records.

The bottom line is that Frey is a liar and a fatmouth.  Good for him that he made millions, but shame on him for putting out such garbage claiming that he "cured himself" without help.  That kind of thing just encourages those who truly do need help to fail to pursue it.
