Supposed to be a blustery day here. High in the 40s but the wind chilli factor will kick in & make in 10 degrees cooler. Looks pretty outside but don't let that fool you.
I had noticed that my main ham radio antenna was looking a little loose on top of the tower a few days ago. Yesterday in the 40+ mph winds, it got worse. When I got home, it was really crooked and not level like it should be. There are two "U" bolts that hold the antenna to the mast and both of those were broken and it was just hanging on by the broken bolts.
Last night, I climbed in the dark and took some rope and tied the antenna up there so if it came off the broken bolts, it wouldn't come crashing to the ground and get bent and ruined.
So, this morning, I went and got two new bolts, climbed up and got it fixed. Its 23° and I was plenty cold by the time I got back down. brrrrrr.
