Just wanted to drop a line saying that I am fine and do miss being on the forum. I have been sick for the past 5 days. I have not smoked at all in those five. wish me luck that it stays that way.
Also Since my department is being reorganized ( cutting 26 people from the department.) We are being moved to Customer Service. Which is fine with me as that is what I know how to do. Training started the 16th and will go on for about 2 weeks. after that I will be moving to a 4pm to 1 am shift monday through Friday. I will have my weekends off. The only reason for the lateness is that the center is only open till 11 pm however my call center is taking the Oregon, Washington, IDaho, and California calls and they are 2 hours behind us. I will hopefully be able to get back on at some point at night but it will mostly be during the day and maybe on weekends. Have no fear I will still be checking in to keep abreast of the new celebrations so that I can keep cooking. JD, MZ,Riggs, I owe you guys a big apology for not getting you the stuff I promised you. As god is my witness I will get those desserts to you. Anyway its almost bedtime. take care and I will drop a hello tomorrow.
Thumper, I hope the transition for your new position and hours goes well...hope you feel better too...and above all...good luck with the no smoking...that is HUGE. That alone would make your 2006 a success
don't worry/feel bad/guilty about the goodies! Take care of business first, bake when the inspiration hits you and you are cooking up a storm for a bunch of folks!
thump- let me tell you, I quit being a full time smoker about a decade ago. Try and give it a month. One morning you will wake up, the craving will be gone, you'll be shocked that you feel like you have double the lung capacity, and food tastes twice as good!
I have maybe one cigarette every 3 weeks- on a particularly bad or long day at work, or if I am out coctailing it with my buddies. That 1 cigarette, at that frequency, seems like a fine cigar...and I never EVER have the craving to re-take up the habit.

JD. Congrats on quitting smoking! I've never smoked so I don't know the addiction, but I understand that is a tough one to break. I've heard that when starting or stopping something, it takes at least 30 days but it will eventually become a habit.
Yeah, there's a physical addiction, but I'll tell you about what the addiction REALLY is. It's socializing. The smokers always know EVERYTHING first. They actually get to TALK to each other...which doesn't happen in the cubicle world. And the whole judgement thing...out the window. They're busy being the world's outcasts so they're usually not judging you.
I never felt so out of the loop as when I quit smoking.
Web- glad to hear you are feeling better! We will miss you, but look forward to you popping in. Good luck with those hours!
About the smoking- I quit for good when I became pregnant with litte E. I could never smoke one and I still crave them! Just being honest! I agree about the smoking and being in the loop! Too funny that is universal!
yea the smokers here know so much more than me as far as gossip goes. As I am not really all that interested in what the gossip is, or who thinks what, I am glad I don't smoke for even that reason alone!
I have always wondered about the need people have to create an enemy in their lives, and then talk trash and try and get people "on their side" about a person, usually a work person. I think the drama queens around here (where I work) are lacking in drama in their lives, so they build an imaginary drama, so they have something to bitch about.

Well. There is that. That's why I mostly hung out with the dudes. Generally, dudes don't give a crap about the whiney, gripey crapola. We mostly hung out & talked about what's going on. Yeah. They had people they didn't like & stuff, but generally, my guy friends don't hate you if you like somebody they don't like.
yea, when I have my one cigarette a month here, its usually with this kid danny. he don't say much, just pretty much "yep". like them guys on King of The Hill.

Thanks for the support guys. So far I have not had any addictions although I have wanted to ligth up I just have not done it. I have the support of alot of people who also quit at various times within the last month and we are going to make it.
Well, JD, if you gotta get your stock pulled, you really want someone who speaks as little as possible.
Sorry, couldn't help but chime in on that one. Thump, I wish you success on the no smoking. I'm still puffing, but I'm hoping to quit soon. It is a social thing. For me it's also a stress release. I know, it's mental, but it works for me. Otherwise I would have no hair right now. I am no longer a supervisor. They cut my department down to one person, ME. I am an army of one now and the work is still pouring in. Pray for me. I miss you guys a lot. I'm going to have to find the time to post from home. It's just been really, really busy. I won't bore you with the details, but know you all are missed.

Hey! I know the one you are talking about! The award winning Jazz 101 that's on from 8 pm to midnight CST on Sundays.
I need to get Freezeframe Radio back on my computer. My daughter LOVES Mana Mana, so I will have to do that and torture you all by playing it some Sat. night.
