Favorite Lunch Spots

Is there one place you go to once or twice a week? Why do you go? The food, the staff, the atmosphere?

On Wednesday's I usually go to BW3's.

I've been doing it for about three years. I've got to know the waitresses and the food isn't too bad. It's become a comfort thing. Plus the lunch hour usually stretches into 90 minutes. I sit in the bar and relax watch ESPN or Fox or whatever they have on. When baseball season hits I usually get to watch an inning or two before heading back to work.

At my old job, before they moved, we used to go to a specific Steak N Shake. The waiter that always waited on us was really nice and always gave us free drinks. The food was just typical SnS food, but the service was worth it. Around where I work now, there really aren't any good sit down spots, and if I get lunch, I usually drive through or get take out. I live close enough to where I work that I can just go home for lunch.

I rarely leave the office for lunch, but when I do I meet my old secretary at Kyoto's Express! It is a Japanese steak house, like the one's they cook in front of you, but it is a fast food version of the more expensive restaurant. You can still see him cook, only he cooks for everyone, not just for your table! The food is the exact same- even the huge portions, but faster and cheaper!

I get my sushi from there!

During the summer, I like to head over to the Chipolte by work. They've got a deck for outdoor seating, and its a great way to break up the day by getting an hour of sun at the noon hour.

When my friends lisa and ang used to work here, we'd hit a local chain pizza place called neds. Really good pizza and italina sausage sandwiches. The waitress there is nice and a lot of fun.

We just got a California Tortilla up here - a coworker and I go at least once a week. They've got great burritos - really different options like honey lime and thai burritos, and they're SO additive. Plus, they have all kinds of goofy promotions all the time. Once we had to make jungle noises to get a free burrito... Monday nights you get to spin the free stuff wheel, every month it's a new promotion, and the owners of the chain produce a funny newsletter every month. It's a novel idea when there is a food place every block - every seat is taken at the lunch hour, so they're doing something right.

JD you brought up Neds!  I love that place. It's been so long since I hit there.

For lunch, a good day is spent at a local deli down the street called Waterfront deli.  They have homemade soups and just these amazingly tasty sammiches. It's a little pricey for lunch, so it's a rarity we'll go.

My favorite lunch spot is Shooters, It sounds alot like your restaurant Ray, they have the best hot wings in town.  My other favorite is a by Rapid Creek in our park. There is a spot I can drive back in the trees a little bit and have the sun shining through the trees. Siesta time!

Pambo and I used to favor Chipotle when we worked close to one. Buffalo Wild Wings rocks, but generally we didn't drive there. If we wanted Buffalo Chicken, it was much closer to go to Ruby Tuesday's which also has a salad bar.

These days, it's the Euro Cafe.  Sounds more exciting than it really is... it's just one of the cafeterias here at the campus.  Happens to be in the same building Pambo's daughter works in so we all meet up for lunch.

Hey Somechick, you are the 3rd person I know that has mentioned Waterfront Deli, I am going to have to check that out!

Know what? I might just go get me an italian sausage sammich today from Neds, if time allows! It's been awhile since I've been there too!

Ned's just isn't on the way anywhere near me, so it's rare that I'd go there.

Yeah waterfront, I guess I would say it's a little higher end than your normal deli.  I'd say Panera bread, but fancier.

Their salads are 6-7 bucks, but filling.
