Keep your girl card- I am not big on flowers except for the first date! The thought is sweet and shows that he cares and took the time to do something nice. After that first easy thought- I have higher expectations!


 


My hubby has bought me rose bushes- that is perfect!

I'll admit, I'm a sucker for flowers. Of course, my hubby usually picks wildflowers for me from the side of the road when he walks home, those are the best. He used to also take care of some rose bushes on a property that he worked on, and every once in a while he'd cut one off and bring it home for me. It's not as much about the flower, it's more about the thought.

Now if somebody planted a bunch of daffodils for me...I'd totally be a sucker for that.  Daffodils make me smile because they mean spring is here & summer's just around the corner.

I love Spring. The renewing of everything. Trees. Flowers. Grass. The weather has a slight chill in the morning and evening but perfect during the day. Life at it's best.

I love flowers, particularly roses. I don't get them very often, so I have several rose bushes in my yard... thereby giving them to myself all summer long.  Here's why I should be required to turn in my girl card:  I hate Valentine's Day.  Really... I do.  I resent the calendar driven professions of emotion.  I resent the price hike on all things Valentine's Day related.  I hate that the quality of your personal relationships is judged by the gifts you are given on this one particular day.  I hate that my husband take my loath of this day as harsh personal criticizm, therefore he spends ridiculous effort and money trying to make me like Valentine's Day.

It is just another useless, commercialized holiday. No one should tell you when and how to love someone. I thought love was supposed to be something that was shared between people all year round.

We don't usually make a big deal out of it. Lately we've beeen getting screwed by our anniversary & Valentine's being on Mon or Tues when we have to work 2 jobs. We usually just go out to dinner or a movie.
