4- lived in Chicago (same house) for about 14 years
5-6 moved to SC in 1987- lived on Seabrook Island= two locations
7- moved out on my own and bounced around friend to friend until I got my first house- it was a duplex- had a bunch of roommates and finally moved into an apartment
8- stayed in the apartment for a bit and wanted a yard- so moved into a trailer.
9- Stayed there for years
10- until I met the hubby and I moved into another trailer- with an extra bedroom
11- bought my first home
12-bought my second home and I am still there??? We will see for how long
Ok I have moved 12 times, two continents , two states and three countries
1- My mom still lived at home when I was born, in Goshen, IN.
2- My dad still lived at home, and my mom and me moved into my grandparent's house in Elkhart, IN within months of my being born.
3- My mom and dad finally got an apartment of their own, I think when I was about 18 months old in Mishawaka, IN.
4- My mom and dad got divorced when I was 5, and the winter after my mom moved in with her lousy boyfriend in South Bend, IN (I think to have some help with the bills).
5- Did I mention the boyfriend was lousy? That spring, we moved into a one bedroom apartment back in Mishawaka, IN.
6- When I was 6, my mom met a slightly better boyfriend (though not marriage-material in my book, but what say do I have?), and right before my 7th birthday, they bought a house in Osceola, IN. They still live there.
7- I moved out of my parent's house when I was 19, and in with my then-boyfriend in Mishawaka, IN.
8- We decided we'd had enough of N. IN, so we moved down to Bloomington, IN. We'll have been here for 4 years this June.
3. From sister's 2nd to a house sharing with coworker who's boyfriend left and needed help with the rent.
4. From that crazy place back to my sister's 2nd house. This place went from a 2 person beach house to the crazy guy back , my friend's son & then the crazy boyfriend/husband's sister!(Threw everything I could in my car)
5. From sister's 2nd house to 3rd house.
6. From sister's 3rd house to renting a room in friend's house.
7. From that room to 1st apt with my hubby.
8. To 2nd apt with hubby
9. Moved from one apt in complex to one in the same complex w/ washer 7 dryer in unit. (That I think was the worst because it was 3rd floor to 3rd floor!)
10. From that apt to the house that we are renting. With more plans to move.
I HATE MOVING!!! It's getting hard to find help with the move!

I know, I hate moving too! But we've decided that the place where we are currently staying doesn't suit our needs, especially for the price we pay, so we're moving again in June!
When my mom & stepdad moved my hubby asked if he needed his truck. He kept saying no that he would have his. So we purposely didn't bring it & he got mad! We almost got into a fight that day. My mom had to go and talk to hubby to chill it. Oh & my stepdad is only a couple of months older than my hubby---so it would have been an interesting fight.

Moved out with a room-mate to the rough side of town for a year.
Moved back in with Mom & Dad for a year.
Moved to the rough side of town again to manage an apartment complex and get reduced rent for about two years.
Then I moved back to my hometown in a nice neighborhood for about 5 years.
Then I lived in a small two room office when I was starting the business and needed to save money (almost a year of sleeping in a storage room on a beat up old recliner was NOT fun).
Then I moved here, where I've been for almost six years.
ALL of those moves were within about a 15 mile radius! So I'm clearly NOT an adventurer.
1. 1966 - When I was born, we lived on a ranch near Westerville, an unincorporated village about 15 miles East of where I am now.
2. 1970 - We moved to a ranch about two miles South of where my dad lives now.
3. 1974 - We moved to the ranch where my dad still lives now.
4. 1986 - Moved to "Plattsmouth" NE which is about 30 miles South of Omaha for a job. The job fell through so I ended up taking any job I could find which was hanging drywall.
5. 1987 - Found a job in Lincoln and moved there to a small apt. That summer, we got married and lived in that small apt. for about a year.
6. 1988 - We moved across Lincoln to a bigger apartment.
7. 1990 - We bought our first house in Lincoln
8. 1994 - We moved "back home" and are still living in that house today.
So, a total of eight different places if you don't count the two years of dorm life in tech school.
1. Born in Illinois 2. Moved to Korea for a year. 3. Moved back to Illinois 4. Moved to Huntsville, AL. 5. Moved to Illesheim, Germany. 6. Moved back to Huntsville, AL. 7. Moved to Gollhofen, Germany. 8. Moved to Building 76 in Wurzburg, Germany. 9. Moved to Lincoln Building in Wurzburg, Germany. 10. Moved to Jacksonville, AR. 11. Moved to family home in Illinois. 12. Moved to apartment after marriage. 13. Bought a trailer in VERY rural Illinois. 14. Bought my grandparents house, where I live now.
Not much moving around for a military brat. I did, however, go to 8 different schools in 12 years. Lots of fun, that.

Hey, Thump, when were you in Germany? I went to school with kids from Schweinfurt. I was there the second time from 82 to 87. Don't know about you, but as a dependant in Germany - it rocked! Well, except for the AFN. Shhhhhhhh...think OPSEC. Oy. If you have ever watched AFN in the 80's you KNOW what I'm talking about. The military does not have commercials like they do over here, so they made up their own. Oy covers it nicely.
