The White House Press Corps is just making a big deal out of this because they weren't "the first to know".  They are insulted because the information was initially released to a po-dunk local newspaper.  Big deal... get over it.

Personally, I can't wait for the 'Guns don't shoot people, Dick Cheney does!' bumper stickers to come out.  Politically speaking I tend to lean Republican, but even I think that would be way too funny.  Sad that the man got shot, but he's going to be okay. Hunting accidents happen...it's not as if he was TRYING to shoot this guy.  Do I think it is a major deal?  Not really... object lesson for the country on hunter safety and yet another reminder to be wary of Mr. Cheney.  (Yes, I do find him frightening even without a shotgun in his hands!)

As for Clinton and Monica Lewinsky... I think it is a tragedy that the whole nation had to hear about that.  I don't care that he was getting his groove on in the Oval Office.  I don't particularly care that he was messing with an intern.  That is a personal matter that should best be left between Bill, Hillary, Monica, and God. I seriously doubt Clinton is the only President to get a BJ in the Oval Office.  I'd bet that pretty much every President has gone that route be it with their spouse or someone else.  I'll even admit that if I was President, I'd get my groove on at least once in the Oval Office... how could you resist???

Oh no doubt Mad, I imagine you'd almost HAVE to. Although I would hope it would be with the first lady. You'd have to do it atleast once on top of that presidential seal

The thing that always bugged me about it was the fact it was an intern (powerful man, intern, doesn't look good) and that he was married. The fact he denied it until he simply couldn't anymore, despite being under oath. To me it showed his complete lack of judgement. You can't be putting yourself in situations where an intern can potentially bring down your presidency.

What if she'd claimed he raped her? She'd have evidence, he'd have his word, and with DNA he'd LOSE.

To be honest, the person that scared me the most in the whole thing was Hilary.

Say what you want about standing by your man, or not knowing what they do or say behind closed doors, the only thing I saw throughout that event was just how cold and calculating Hilary really is.

I firmly beleive her political future is much more important to her than her husband. I felt she should send a better message to ALL women that when your mate screws around on you there should be consequences. I remember at the time she had more than a few womens groups quite upset with her.

I think reporters have gotten lazy. I remember the good old days when they had to go hunting for their stories. Now they want them handed to them in a little golden box with their names on them in flowery letters. Give me a break. What do we really owe reporters? Do we owe them a story? Are we bound by some law to tell them everything? They call our Sheriff's office all the time and ask if anything has happened and they tell them no. We don't want them poking around out there in the sticks. We have no use for them. I think the press is a joke. They have turned free speech into a mockery.

I do agree with you Riggs that the power differential between the President and an intern is obscene.  That girl definitely knew what she was up to though or she would never have saved the dress/evidence. It was poor judgement on his part, cold calculation on hers.  It is bad that he lied about it too, but given the odd moral compass of our society he pretty much had to start with denial.  If he came right out and said "Yep, I surely did go for that BJ.  Hey, I'm the President!  Whatcha gonna do about it?", can you imagine the outrage?

And yes, Hillary is frightening. I hope the day never comes that she is President (again). She is just as frightening to me as Dick Cheney, and probably just as dangerous for the country.  Blind political ambition is her motivation. That is the reason she stuck by Bill. Bill stuck by her because he knew she could help him get to the White House.

Yes, but does she have a gun?

We all know that women don't need a gun to get what they want!
