RE: speaking of valentine's day...

I am so hypocritical. My hubby is great, he surprises me with little things all year long: wildflowers he picked on his way home, a rose he bought at the gas station, etc. I do things like that for him too, we've always been like that. But just once, it would be nice to get flowers at work (not necessarily on Valentine's Day, it's not worth the extra 5 bucks). I know what a great guy my husband is, I just want the rest of the world to know it too. But I'd rather keep getting the little reminders throughout the year instead of flowers on just one day, so I won't complain.

do you watch "the office"?  i kinda do (in between housework and such).  anyhow, what molly said reminds me of the one gal getting all the flowers and the other gals just wishing they'd get something so everyone else knew they were loved too.  omg, i so related to that.  i think i'm beginning menopause or something because i never really cared about silly things like valentine's day...  ughhhh!  and i know what molly is saying!  i don't like what i'm morphing into....

We had this woman who used to work here that would have flowers delivered for her anniversay, birthday, valentines day, etc., and she would walk around and show them to everyone. It's just for show and that would drive me crazy. She would leave them at work. I would rather have them at home where I could see them. Actually, I guess I'm more practical. The best present that I got was a dishwasher for Mother's Day. Flowers die. Get me a real rosebush and plant it in the yard. I would rather have a new CD any day of the year rather than flowers. Don't get me wrong, I love flowers. I will suprise family members for no reason with flowers, but if you feel like you are forced to get me something, get me something I can use. Boy, I'm on the biatch train today. Do you guys still love me anyway?

I agree totally.  CDs last much longer, and are so much better.
