Anyone ever...

...get backstage passes? What was it like?

I won tickets to a concert and charity auction for a local child advocacy group. The concert has an opening local band and then the main band is Hot Apple Pie. For those of you not too familiar with country, they sing the song "Hillbillies". My daughter's current favorite country song.

ANYWAY - I won tickets and backstage passes this morning! What's the backstage like? Anyone ever do that? My daughter is going to be so excited!

nah -can't say that I have! I've met some artists, but that was like always at the bar, or they were walking around- that should be really interesting tho!

Congrats Zim!

I have been backstage at a smaller venue probably not the same as a bigger venue and a country star. I have been backstage in the 80s as a groupie- something I am sure that you will not be wanting your daughter to experience!

Oh yeah, all the time.

Although there are 2 types:  the be shuffled into a room with other losers who aren't cool enough to actually be in with the band members.  And then there is the good kind, where you are invited onto the buses, and get to hang out talking with the rockstars, and eating their catering with them.  (The latter is what usually happens with me, I'm glad to say.)

I have a feeling this won't be like a catered event or anything. Probably more like a meet and greet. It's a college auditorium and a charity event, so it's probably fairly low key. I would love a photo with my daughter and everyone in the band. That would be the most memorable thing, I think! Thanks for the heads up. I'm very happy to find out my daughter will be allowed backstage (I was worried there was an age restriction). WHEW!
