Do professional teams over there strike like they do here? We almost had an NFL strike driven by GREED!

Not the sports teams no but a lot of other industries do, like the teachers, postal workers, fire brigade, those kind of people.

The footballers wouldn't dare strike, they get paid silly amounts of money as it is, for example David Beckham's weekly wage is reportedly anything between £90,000 and £120,000.

Oh you said WEEKLY! Yes they get that amount here too- so do actors and actresses. The world is really screwed up that way.
