Corned Beef & cabbage

Ok so I know LS and probably MZ won't be eating corned beef and cabbage on Friday- but I know we will. Anyone else follow this tradition?

RE: Corned Beef & cabbage

I might be. we'll see what happens like for lunch or dinner. Its not so much of a tradition, unlike Thursday, when we have our St Patricks Day Potato bar thing a work....

I have never had corned beef and I am not about to try it now. In our house it was actually ham, cabbage and potatoes.

Corned beef & cabbage sounds really good!  I have wanted to make up a pot - just no time to eat it.  Always on the run.  Maybe after this weekend life will slow down...

Even when I was a carnivore, I wouldn't touch that stuff!  Eww.  Just looking at it gives me gas!

Absolutely not! We are going to try and go out Friday. I don't know if we are just going for drinks or dinner too. I really don't care as long as I get to chill with some drinks.

NO WAY!

Corned Beef!!! Cabbage!!! Am I being tortured or something?!? I think not!

Actually, I've been eagerly awaiting Friday to order a jumbo shrimp meal from a local restaurant. I saw they had a great shrimp meal a few weeks ago, and decided to treat myself this Friday since I'm not supposed to eat meat on Fridays anyway.

WOO HOO! I LOVES THE SHRIMP!

At first I missed the "I" in that last post & thought "how do you know I love shrimp?!" LOL!

I was looking through the grocery store ads this morning... looks like only one out of the five local stores has a sale on corned beef and cabbage.  Oddly, the rest have a sale on Guinness, Bailey's, and Collin Michaels Whiskey.

The dispensation was granted Riggs. You are allowed to have meat this Friday. I just wouldn't suggest corned beef.   I will have my ham on Friday.

I think Mema was ok with it, but I too was surprised by the beating it took. I LOVE corned beef and cabbage with potatoes too. It is so expensive though, I only make it if it is on sale. I bought two last night!
