The cheesiest covers of all are country covers. George Strait has about 200 albums out, & they all look the same!
And a lot of the country ones have covers that look like they were taken with a cheap camera by someone's child. I mean, what is this?!

I personally don't like to see their faces. I like that for the inside stuff. I like artwork or somesuch. One of my favorites is Aerosmith's where the truck is stacked on the other truck.

When the face is as nice as Hal Ketchum's, I'm more than happy to see it. But man, that is a terrible picture!

LS, that cover looks like it was thrown together in 2 minutes.
I agree in a lot of cases TG. It's a rare case when the picture of the band makes a decent cover. Usually it just looks like they couldn't think of anything else. I think Harrison's cover would've looked better if it was just the background. Oh, and the Aerosmith cover you're thinking of is PUMP.

I'm finding these cheesy ones quite grotesque. I prefer to think of my favorites. I used to love going through my big brother's albums. Loved Boston's cover where the guitar looked like a space ship. Wild Cherry's "Play that funky music" cover with just the lips and cherry. It was sooooo sexual without showing anything. One cheesy one comes to mind, the super close up of John Denver with the bangs and round glasses.
