My very very early memories are of watching Hee Haw with Buck Owens. What a sad loss. Maybe it's just me though...
No, it's not just you. I too grew up watching him on Hee Haw, and with my parents playing his music. It's a bummer. But he had a fairly long life, I guess.

Growing up in the sticks, we only had 3 channels. So. on Saturday nites, we only had three options: A local talk show, Lawrence Welk, or Hee Haw. Needless to say, growing up in Western KY, Hee Haw won hands down.
My brother's church did a program one summer on a Saturday Night. It was a Hee Haw theme so all of the skits were from the show. They said it was a blast.
