Daylight Savings Time A'comin

This weekend!

Although I hate the idea of losing an extra hour of sleep, lookin forward to it being light out until 8:30- 9:00!!!

I am most pleased that the majority of my clocks will once again be right with the time!

With the exception of the alarm clock in my room, and the clock on the computer, I never change my clocks to match the 1 hr change- just wait for spring when they will be right again!

I hear some parts of the country don't do daylight savings time? Or its weird- its not an equal hour increment?

What's it like for your part of the nation?

We do the daylight savings time. However it still won't get me to match YOUR time.

I always have to think "what time are JD's shows here?"

I do the same thing Woo Hoo. Now, what did JD say? Oh yeah, 7pm, that means 8pm for me.

I'm a daylight savings time newbie. This will be the first time I've had to change my clocks. I know I'm going to forget one. A lot of people around here are complaining about the time switch being at 2am, because they lose an hour of drinking time.

I usually forget the clock in the programmable thermostat and it takes a few days of "Why is it so cold in here right now?" before I figure it out.

But if the bar closes at 2am they don't really lose anything except an hour of recovery and being hung over. Unless bars don't close until 3am out there. And it doesn't work in the fall either when you go from 2am back to 1am. The bar doesn't go for that. We have tried multiple times. "What do you mean no more! It is 1am, we have an hour to drink!"

Spring forward, fall behind.

I can't wait to sit out on the front porch until 9:00 in the sunlight with a cold cool drink!

They close at 3 here. The excise police won't let them stay open an hour later that night. Knowing the bars around here, come fall, they'll probably give them an extra hour.

We do daylight savings time here... in the standard one hour increment. Trust me... clock setting in your home isn't bad.  This year I'm pleased that I'm not pulling daylight savings time duty here at the office.  I've done it before several times in the network... gotta reset about 40,000 clocks to do that!  Really... even in a file upload format it takes a good few hours to do it.

I hasn't really affected me much. It's kind of weird that the sun is just setting. If it were on any other day except for Sunday, I would have had a harder time.

The time change fooled my servers. The servers automatically adjust for daylight savings time, and they must have done that within an hour of when the daily backups were supposed to run. The time they were supposed to do their jobs never came so they got the night off.

I agree with you Mz, I'm glad it happens on Sunday morning rather than Monday morning.

it seems, at least up here, that they really don't promote the fact that its daylight savings time that much anymore. Used to be a section on the front page of the local newspaper with a reminder, I am almost positive my desk calendar at work doesn't mention it....

Make mine a double. I woke up at 7- knew I should have set an alarm. I was one hour late for work, but still feel tired!

I spent the better part of yesterday outside in the nice weather so I didn't notice the day slipping away. It was nice to see the sun longer though.
