Morning Dave! Morning all! Good afternoon Ultimo, if you're around.

It's already 60 here, but it's raining and we may get some storms. Fine with me, I can deal with that, it's supposed to be 64 and sunny tomorrow. And I got to break out my flip flops!

Morning all! Well it's warm and rainy. You know I just can't have warm. It's suposed to get to 63 today with severe storms. Last night went well with hubby and the girl. It had nothing to do with me. She apparently was too nervous to face both of us. We used to go over and see her on Wednesday of the weeks that we weren't going to have her on the weekend. I think it was primarily to help her with math homework. Well we stopped doing that for some reason and that hurt her. The other thing we were right about. She is doing more things with friends and was wondering if we could sometimes pick her up on Sat instead of Friday. She also wanted to know if sometimes a friend could come over. Now I don't know why she thought we wouldn't want her friends over. Hubby doesn't think this is done though. He thinks that it's just the tip of the iceberg. But for now it's not so bad.

Well that's good. And it's promising that she talked to him about it instead of just sulking and rebelling.

Yep I thought that too. I'm just glad that she's not going straight in and ripping my hubby's heart out. He is very sensitive and loves her to death. I think he can handle the gradual growing up and not coming over as much than the all of a sudden I don't want to come over anymore thing.

Goodmorning!

Dave its funny you mention sleeping with the windows open- last night was the first night I did that here. While the circulating air is nice, the 3 am firetrucks, train whistles. the kids using the walkway outside the windows as a shortbut for school this early this morning, and the fact that I can actually hear the traffic report helicopter hover and buzz made for a rough night!

It usually doesn't take me long to get used to the city sounds. After a couple days of leaving my windows open, those sounds will help me get to sleep. But it'll have to be over 60 at night before I even think of leaving a window open throughout the night.

But I did open my window at work yesterday, and it did remind me of one major thing I need to get used to again. I hated my stepfather growing up, and he always drove a noisy truck. Now, whenever I hear a noisy truck, I have to remind myself that there's no reason to get stressed out about it.

Hey everyone.

Its 41 but really windy here . . . not very nice right now. Supposed to get in the low 60's today.

We just can't have the windows open. My wife has spring and fall allergies so its best to keep the house closed up when the weather is the best for open windows. Also, the coal trains run through here about every 15 minutes 24/7 so that noise gets anoying too.

The worst thing is when you go to bed with the windows open and then during the night the breeze shifts and before you realize it, the whole house smells like the feedlot that is two miles South of town.

It seems silly to me to have to run the furnace one day and the A.C. the next, but thats the way it is here.

Happy Friday!

I hear you on all the noise polution JD! The darn birds were chirping at 3:45, the wind was gently blowing the blind string into the wall, and that darn deer that keeps eating all my grass right outside my window!! Chomp, scratch, chomp....

Morning all!  Sunny and almost 60 already here today.  There were lots of storms last night, and I thought that was supposed to continue today, but from the looks of things at the moment it will be a beautiful day, probably in the low 70's.

I do have to smile at those of you groovin' on sleeping with the window open.  That happens EVERY night in my house unless the air conditioner is running. Really.  Dead of winter and snowing... the window is open and a fan is running.  My hubby is a freak that way.  I can even remember waking up one night because my feet were wet from the snow that had been sucked through the window and the fan only to melt on the bed. (Of course the window was on my side of the bed and the room was very small.) Around us the coal train runs by about every 38 minutes all night long, but I don't hear it for the box fan.
