Hey, is everyones computer moving kind of slow when you do the request system? I just want to make sure it's not just my connection before I start tweaking it.

Is it slower than normal or about the same when you search?

Its good for us to not have FFR now and then . . . we appreciate it more when it comes back.

Yesterday, I was listening around to some other stations and was surprised at how bad most of them sounded! I was only listening to 64k "mp3 pro" stations, but only a small few sounded nearly as good a FFR.

My guess is that they have their mp3s also at 64k. I'm not sure, but I could certainly tell a difference in sound quality. Most of them had a little of that "under water" sound you get as you lower the bit rate on an mp3.

You're probably right web, they probably scan them in at 64k to save space. We have a few files that accidentally got into the system at 96k and I ALWAYS notice the difference immediately.

Usually we put everything in at 128 minimum, sometimes up to 360.

It's gotta sound good, or who's gonna wanna listen?
