I've been having that problem with my home baked bread. It's awesome when it's still warm, but it really only lasts a day. I need to start pawning half a loaf of bread off on people, but the people around me don't seem to get as excited about home baked bread as I do.
I would LOVE to make my own bread. MZ, when you have a bread maker do they give you the option of making smaller loafs, or even half loafs?
My favorite thing my Mom made when I was a kid was zuchini (sic?) bread. That stuff was soooooo good warm.
I get the choice of 1.5 or 2 pound loaves. I've made 1 pound loaves, but they don't come out as well, and there's no settings on the bread machine for it.
Hey JR- I LOVE zucchini bread too. I bet my mom's is better than your mom's!
I am sipping on my product to be reviewed right this moment. My coffee pot kaputted last week. So... I went to the Gevalia webisite and for just $19.95 I got an awesome coffee maker, 4 different flavored 1/2 pound bags of coffee, a travel mug, 10 coffee filters, and..... A SCOOPER!!
The coffee's AWESOME!! The maker is awesome and it gets hotter than my last maker. The g(i)rls and I both have to be more careful taking that first sip.
Only catch is I have to remember to cancel pretty soon or I'm going to have to start paying $5.95 ish for each coffee that they send to me automatically. I feel LITTLE guilty knowing I ordered just for the incentive gifts, but.... they're the ones that say I can cancel at ANY time.
Anyway, for those of you that can afford the good stuff. I love it. And... put it in perspective. It's still cheaper than Starbucks, and to me it's better!!
My Mom hasn't made Zuchinni bread in about 15 years
I don't blame you for taking the coffee and other bonus items. Like you said, THEY tell you too. They're SO convinced yuo're gonna love their coffee so much you'll be willing to pay the higher price for it once you taste it. They were wrong! You win!
Hey TG, I've seen that offer before, but I've been reluctant to take it. I've always been afraid the coffee maker will be some cheap thing. Is it programmable? When you do cancel, let us know how hard it was to cancel...
My maker is stainless, the pot is 12 cup glass with black accents. Very modern looking. It has a digital clock and I have it programmedfor my morning coffee. It also turns off automatically after two hours. My friend has one and loves hers too. I've actually bought from Gevalia twice before over the last 15 years. I've never had a problem canceling before, knock on wood. I can't remember the website I used, because Google brought up several offers and some of them are different. So you might want to compare before you choose.
I had to call to cancel. They asked why. You state your reason. Ours was because we didn't drink that much coffee. They of course could change your ship schedule which we had already done. But once they asked the questions, it was all done. No hassle.

Back when I first tried Bare Escentuals I also got a sample of a toner and really liked it. Well I finally got me a full size bottle and I am in love with this stuff!
Dr Murad Clarifying Toner from Sephora. It feels so nice on your skin and it actually works! It doesn't over dry you out either. $21

my hubby has been suffering from joint & muscle pain in his arms for several years, but lately it has really become unbearable to the point that he can't sleep...
i'm not one to buy stuff on tv very often, but my husband insisted that i order Dr. Frank's Joint & Muscle Pain Relief Oral Spray. i tried to convince him that those people are just "snake oil salesmen", and went ahead and ordered him the small two week supply.
to my suprise it really helped. after a few days he was resting better and not grouchy from being in pain. but now the bottle is empty and yesterday over the course of the day he took over 1000 mg of ibuprophen and it didn't touch it!
the great thing is that the pain spray really worked for him; the drawback is that it's not cheap -- that little two week bottle (including shipping) was about $25 ...

I've got a friend with back problems that's started using that stuff and says it really works too.
I think I may have mentioned (maybe once) how much I hate mowing because it bores me to tears. A couple years ago, I had purchased a pair of "isolating" ear buds that were to keep outside noise out while also providing audio. The pair I bought totally SUCKED! They didn't isolate worth a darn, they felt like I had just screwed bolts in my ears, and the audio sounded like a transistor radio sitting in an empty coffee can. Needless to say, I was not impressed.
I decided to try another pair. I had a $50 Overstock.com gift card from credit card points so I went shopping. I chose this type of isolating ear bud. They came early this week and I just tried them out while mowing at home.
I gotta say they are GREAT! The isolation is awesome. They block outside noise as well as a good pair of ear plugs. I inserted them into my ears and they did feel a little tight and were putting some pressure on the insides of my ears, but they have to do that some to block sound. I then started a podcast and set the volume at a comfortable level. My goal was to see if I would have to turn the volume up to hear well over the mower.
I started mowing and without adjusting the volume, I could hear the podcast very well. I understood every word but could still hear the mower just enough to tell how it was running.
Audio quality is not as well as a full sized set of head phones. They are a little weak on the bass (gotta have bass), but I could adjust the eq settings in the player on my Pocket PC phone to where I was happy. There is no comparrison to the audio quality on those other pieces of junk I bought, these are quite acceptible.
So, if you have need for outside noise blocking ear buds, consider the Etymotic Isolator ear buds. They are not cheap at $95, but they work very well and if $45 (with my $50 gift card) will make mowing, snow blowing, etc bearable, it will be worth it.
I would NOT recommend wearing this type of ear bud to just go walking or somehting like that because you can't hear oncoming cars, etc. But for use in noisy environments, these work.
I'm not sure if I posted this or not, not going to look back and see, but can I just say the Kingsford Matchlight charcoal with Mesquite rocks!!!!
A neighbor that I sometimes grill out with bought me a bag of the regular charcoal, cuz we are always using mine, and man o man what a battle it is to work with lighter fluid etc, way way too much time and effort. Matchlight charcoal is definately the way to go!!!
3 thumbs up from jd!

Do you guys have "Red Box"? Ours are in the local McDonalds restaurants. It's a portable DVD rental location. They have like the topp 100 newest releases. It's all self-done. You pick your movie, enter your name and address, swipe your credit/debit card, and voila, out comes the DVD. There's a return slot right on the side when you're done. It costs $1 per day as long as you want to keep it. And... you can return it to ANY of the Red Box locations, doesn't HAVE to be the one you got it at. WE LOVE IT! I'm thinking about dropping my Blockbuster.com home delivery. Although, It's a good deal for $8/month too. No complaints, this is just even more perfect.
Try Fuze if you get a chance. I bought some this weekend with a coupon. Tastes great, no aftertaste, no shakes and really did curb my appetite for a bit. But very low in calories and a fun drink!
I have the annoying skin condition on my upper arms called keratosis pilaris http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratosis_pilaris
I didnt have it when I was younger, but as we age --- s#!t happens. Over the past couple years, Ive tried numerous products, but nothing has really helped as much as Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy Plus Intensive Repair Crème. It feels a little heavy and sticky, but after using it day and night for the past week, the bumps have really diminished.
If any of you have this skin condition and havent found anything to minimize it (its not curable), I really recommend trying this crème.
