I don't understand the age one . . .

"She is twice the age that Valerie"

If she is 24 now, and twice another's age, that would mean it has to be 12 or less. Twice 18 is 36 and she's only 24 now.

Maybe I'm missing something.

Ok, I see what I missed . . . how old is VALERIE.

Very good Molly- I just stink at these!


I keep skipping over them cause I do not get them- but this is for you so here goes some more!


 


 


Two candles are the same length.


Both are lit at the same time.


The first candle (#1) burns six hours before it extinguishes itself.


The second candle (#2) burns three hours before it extinguishes itself.


Question : During how much time must candle #1 burn before it is twice the length of candle #2 ?

I don't get it. If candle 1 burned longer, wouldn't it be shorter, so you wouldn't want to burn it any more?
