Bananarama's worldwide smash album "Drama", featuring the UK top 20 hit Move In My Direction is getting a US release on May 16th... their first US release since 1996's "Ultra Violet".   Anyone else looking forward to it?  I like the three songs I heard and I think with the right promotion, this could be a minor comeback hit for them.


Riggs, I'm sniffing a "New Music Weekend" here :)

Hey Anf,

I contacted my friends in Russia and I'm happy to announce we'll be debuting the new DRAMA CD from Bananarama THIS WEEKEND on the New Music Weekend.

I had to pull a few strings, and there's some question as to who now would have rightful ownership of my first born should I ever have a child, but the end result is we'll be debuting the CD Friday through Sunday.

HEY ANF,

Since you're our resident Bananarama fan, what do you know about an album from them called "Please Yourself"?

It seems to be cover versions of other artists hits, but I can't find any mention of it anywhere on the web. Thoughts?

hey Riggs.  Thanks for the Bananarama weekend!!


Please Yourself was released overseas in 1993 and they had a big hit in Europe with their remake of "More More More", but that's all I really know about that album.   They have been a duo since 1991, which was also when they released "Pop Life", perhaps their best album as a whole.   Siobhan (who went onto Shakespear's Sister) did reunite for a one-off with the other two girls in 1999 but they have since went their seperate ways.
