hey dave-

happy friday!

Supposed to be sunny and 70s today. I came to work early so I could leave early and get outside and get me some of that!

So exactly how many of us are working today? Not too many, huh?

Good Friday all and good morning. I might not be getting paid, but there is lots of work to be done. Gonna go start to boil eggs in a bit!

Hello Friends.

I'm "at" work today. That doesn't mean I'll actually do anything, but I might try. I've got a frame to make that has to be dovetailed together . . . I may work on that today.

My wife informed me that tonight, "we" are going to cut the row of bushes in the back down to about waist height. That means I'll do the cutting and hauling while she watches to make sure I'm doing it correctly.

Happy Good Friday, all!  I'm in the office today, but not sure how long I will actually hang out.  It was 72, windy, and sunny on the drive in this morning, again we are looking for a high of 90. I LOVE this!! Hubby is off at 3 PM today and he requested I join him ASAP for visiting the kids, gathering Easter baskets, and boiling eggs.

buenos dias, amigos!  (been teaching the little one some phrases).  glad to see that dj, mz and ray made it alright through the storms last night.  i love the thunder and lightning shows, but i cringe when i hear the wind blow.  hope everyone has a good -- good friday!

Happy Friday all! Me & hubby are being quite lazy today. Tonight I get to go to a Stampin' Up party with his ex-wife's family while hubby watches the girl, probably her boyfriend and the ex's kids!

i know that probably sounds weird but we all got brought together after the ex's husband died. I find it weird sometimes when I think about it, but it is for the best. We are also having Easter over there. We spent one other one over there when he was alive.

Anyways have a good day & holiday!

good when ex's get along.  i have a similar situation.  when my son's dad passed away, his stepmom asked to still have him every other weekend and on family trips.  our parenting techniques are not always the same (i'm the strict "mean mom").  we invite eachother to family functions too.  she is re-married, and my son was at first concerned / embarrased -- "how do i introduce them?  uh, this is my stepmom and stepdad?"  i introduce her as my friend and son's stepmom.

I have tried to be nice to my hubby's ex, but to no avail. He just keeps us separate. I figure that is best anyway. It is different being the stepmom, when the ex wife is bitter and has not had a date since they split! I told my hubby he ruined her for all men! It has been since 1995!

I try to maintain a decent relationship with my hubby's first ex-wife as she is the biological mother of the boys. I disagree with almost everything about her, particularly the way she has treated the boys over the years, but I'm always nice to her. In a way, I actually feel sorry for her.  She's made a lot of bad choices in life and as a result she is married to a dirtbag, her kids don't respect her or really want her around, and she will probably never get far enough out of debt to have any kind of financial stability.

I imagine it must be difficult for her as well. The day the younger boy got married, she had a terrible fight with her husband.  He was being a jerk because he was mad that they had to travel 2 hours to the wedding instead of the kids getting married by them. It was a very hot day, she had been crying all morning, was 20 minutes late to the wedding for fighting with her husband, and everyone was staring at her when she finally arrived.  She was a mess!  It looked like she had slept in her clothes and her makeup was running down her face.  The tension between her and her husband was obvious. Her husband and daughter sat back in the third row... she came and sat right next to me.  I handed her some kleenex and patted the back of her hand. She leaned over and gave me a hug... much to the amazement of my inlaws.  I can't fathom how bad it must feel to walk into that situation, look around, and the only person you can sit by who will be kind to you is your ex-husband's wife.

All in all, I think it is for the best when people try to get along when there are kids involved.

I ve been out all day. Drove 90 miles to Leeds and saw a couple of friendsthen took my kids to their dad's - my ex. We do get on ok - we keep it amicable for the kids...it is important for the kids to see the adults behaving like adults and I think that that has really helped the kids to adjust to the change in their life when it happened and to see us united on certain issues.

My mom and dad didn't even speak since they divorced. They weren't mean or anything like that, they just went on like the other one didn't exist any more. Heck, at my wedding was the first time they saw each other since I was 5!
