I dunno it just seems to me from what I've heard- and I haven't paid a lot of attention to it, but it sounds tired and old, like paul seems to be, and the lyrics seem to be saying "I am tired and old." not quite dance music......

Yeah, there's a couple songs I like, but those are the ones they play on the radio. Otherwise, it sounds like a lot of his other songs.

I guess, in fairness, an album deserves a good couple listens....alot of time and energy goes into those songs and albums...

I estimated it took us about 8 hours a song between recording and engineering in the studio...

not to mention the time it took to write the song...

Not every song is gold, but there are redeeming qualities to every song...ie, lyrics, melody, production value etc.

Yes, but I have to wonder if this album is a couple hits and a lot of filler.

I have only heard a couple songs off the album and liked what I heard...but I like Paul Simon...but I would like to listen to it more attentively...so I cant grade it fairly yet.

a few years back I had awesome seats to a paul simon show...forgot how we got them, remember thinking it was quite a good deal- was maybe 6 rows back but he was awesome. African dancers/ Graceland revisited etc...It was very energetic, and literally all he would have to do is hunch over his guitar and sway to the music and the crowd went nuts. good good live sound. you could tell he was happy to be there. I'll probably end up going to his show at summerfest this year...but if its an evening of an old man singin lullabys we'll duck out early.
