Yup, still doin' the low thing. We did five songs this morning and it went really well. Everyone seemed to be having an "on" day. Both keyboardists were here today so we had both piano and keyboard which really helps it sound "full".
During practice, as we ended one song, our leader told the keyboardist: "I loved how you dropped out and then came back in on that last chord, that sounded awesome!". She just started laughing: "I just got lost and thats where I finally caught up . . . I'll try to get lost in the same place during the service". lol
I put new strings on my bass . . . went with flats and I'm really liking them. Nice, mellow tone and easy on the fingers.
Still learning. Yes, playing live every week helps a lot. Starting about Wednesday or Thursday, I start working on the songs for Sunday. It helps force me to practice.
I think everything is getting better slowly, except I haven't been able to spend much time on theory. I cheat . . . I found a web site that I can look up a chord signature and it will show me what key its in and thus what notes I have available to work with in that key. Hopefully as I do that enough times, I'll be able to remember from one time to the next.
