RE: Songs that bring back memories

Dedication

Memory: Elementary shool music class. Teacher let children occationally bring in music. We were scandalized by this "dirty" song.

Yeah, right?  It makes me smile looking back on how young we were, singing all about that and Donna Summer's "Bad Girls" too!

Right now I am listening to Patti Labelle/Michael McDonald- On My Own

and I just remembered that this played as well as Peter Cetera's Glory of Love right about the time my parents divorced. The songs made my Mom sad.

So not necessarily a good memory but I just thought about it.

I still like the songs though.

Bush- Machinehead

-Sometime in the 90's, probably very shortly after I started working at this job-
I was in our CPR class sitting next to my sister. At the time this dorky relative of the company conducted the class. It was so boring. Nowadays one of our Directors does it and it is less painful. Anyways the instructor kept saying "breathe in, breathe out," She was very repetitive. At the same time me & my sister began singing "Machinehead" which has the line "breathe in, breath out". We both started laughing and then tried to stifle the laugh so we did not get busted fooling around. smile

When in Rome - The Promise

Not as exciting as some of my others, but I do have a memory attached to this. Being on vacation in Florida in the 2000's, and hearing it over the mall's sound system. I had only a vague memory of it, and thought "I remember this song! Who is this?!" I jotted down the lyrics & it took me literally about 2 or 3 years to get me answer. But by-gum, I know it now!
