I'm not really sure on the details. But she cooked eggs and bacon in a paper lunch bag! Now something always goes wrong when she does these things so it caught on fire, but it actually was good. She is always getting camping recipes.

Might I suggest ham steaks!


no prep, just throw them on the grill to warm them up- ez for camping. If you want to do a marinade, pineaple juice and a bit of maple syrup!

We always do shishkabobs. We marinate them in catalina dressing and then stick them on skewers and grill them over the campfire. They always come out really good. We usually use beef and chicken, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms. I've also marinated ham cubes and skewered them with pineapple and cherries before too.

This looks pretty good!



INGREDIENTS:

  • Keilbasa, as many as you want
  • 1 to 2 cans of beer, your preference
  • onions, white or regular
  • green peppers
  • salt and pepper


PREPARATION:
Cut up Kielbasa into 4 inch long pieces and place in a deep skillet. Cut up onions and place those in skillet. Cut up 2 green peppers, add to skillet. Pour a little bit of beer about 2 to 3 minutes apart from turning Kielbasa in skillet

Here is a camping desert dear.



INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 16-ounce can cherry pie filling
  • 1 12-ounce can Sprite


PREPARATION:
Combine all three ingredients in Dutch oven, in order listed above, and mix until blended. Put lid on Dutch oven and set over hot coals. Place about six coals on top of lid and let cook for about 15-20 minutes.

Hey Allycat-  One of my family's camping standards is the grilled chicken fajitas.  You can grill the veggies in tin foil.  Hubby grills the chicken separatey.  The only other stuff you need are the totillas, shredded cheese, and sour cream.  (Would go great with the bucket-o-margaritas!)
