I'm alright I guess.  Did Mema tell you what's been going on with me this week?

Well, the truth is that I'm still in a lot of pain after my surgery.  Different pain...but pain is pain, you know?!?

There were complications with the surgery.  I didn't die or anything.  It's just really intricate surgery that didn't go as easily as it should have.  The left side of my face is about double the size of the right.  It's all bruised.  I can't close my jaw.  My speech has been seriously impaired.  I can't sleep longer than an hour at a time.  I can't eat.  I can't taste.  The doctor says this should all be temporary & once the nerve recovers, everything should be okay.  It's probably going to take longer because of the complications. 

It's been pretty scary so far.

 

 well it's not like you stubbed your toe , give it few days for the swelling to go down , the pain will probbly ease up as it does .  hope you got some good meds .  take it easy and try not to worry .

Unfortunately, this was supposed to be so routine that they didn't even give me any pain meds.  Fortunately, I still have some from the original problem so I'm taking those.  A week ago, these pills (on top of my other dozen meds) put me to sleep in less than an hour.  Now that I'm off all of the other meds...nothing much.  But I'm taking them & Tylenol & spending lots of time icing my face. 

I sure wish I had a magarita...

WoO HOO! Dieting the easy way (or hard way, depending on how you look at it).

I got real sick with what might have been the flu about two years ago and I lost like 17 lbs in two weeks. It was GREAT!

SCORE!  An almost GUARANTEED 5-ish.  That's WAY better than expected. 

I wish!  I had surgery on Tuesday.  My husband went out of town Wednesday morning at 6 AM.  He got back yesterday around 5-ish.  He left for a Boy Scout camping trip with our son at 5-ish today...he's gone the whole weekend. 

I'm pretty sure it's that he doesn't know what to do to FIX it.  He's not so hot when it comes to just comforting someone.  He wants to FIX it or avoid it.  I don't know if it's a  guy thing or just a him thing. 

The boy really helped out this week.  I think he deserves some time off from my sorry self.  I think he GETS the comforting part that I needed.  He even cuddled with me for a while over the last few days.  He's such a sweetheart.  I hope he NEVER loses that part of himself.
