Hi Everyone!


I just wanted to let you know that I showed my mother the wonderful posts of thoughts and prayers that all of you posted onto the site and she asked me to thank you from the bottom of her heart for the kind words and prayers. It meant alot to her.


 


The memorial will be next monday.


Alas however It will again be a hard week.  My mother informed me today that my grnadmother passed away about an hour ago.  While this was not unexpected it is still a shock.  My grandfather passed away in 1996 and she has been waiting to go ever since.  They were married 54 years. My grandmother has been in an assisted living home for the last few years and has slowly been deteriorating. She gave up when my grandfather passed away and she is now able to join him and my father in heaven where she will sit and crochet while my father and grandfather play golf in heaven to see who has the better score. 


 


We will be leaving on Tuesday after the memorial service to go up there. I should be able to check in at some point.  Who knows maybe I can get the bird out to the desert.

wow thump. I feel for you and your family right now; you know we all do. It seems so unreal, but in a way- and I see that you see this too- it seems like some sort of great homecoming tho.  If you get to chose what heaven is to be, may it be a nice spring morning at tee off time for the guys, may grandma have a nice view in a comfy chair on the porch!

Thump, I am so sorry to hear about your Grandma, you are a strong person and in your own way you can see the good times and not concentrate on the latter. We are here for ya bud!

My sympathies to you and your family.  I've been there with the grandmas and assisted living.  You know they're ready to go so it's good for them.  Still sad for us though. 


Fortunately, the majority of my memories are from the good times when she was still at home and lively as opposed to the nursing home where she was just a shell of her old self. 


Just remember she's in a much better place now.

Thump,

It's really sad that your family has to go through this on top of your fathers passing. But I think you've got the right attitude. It sounds like your grandmother lead a full life and was ready to be reunited with the love of her life.

I'll keep her, your father and your entire family in my prayers tonight my friend.

Gosh Thump what a load you have to carry. Well hopefully the old saying things happen in threes is true- because between the job and the passings you have a full plate. I will continue to pray for strength and perserverance. Be there for your mom- she needs you.
