What's everyone doing this summer!?


Summerfest is coming up at the end of this week- I have plans to go see Elvis Costello, Blue Oyster Cult, Bauhausm Nine Inch Nails, Psychedelic Furs, Wilco, Michael McDonald and Steely Dan.


On my days off where I have no plans to go to summerfest, I plan on gettin up early a few days and greeting the sunrise at the lake, goin for long walks, chillin, brewskis, grillin out, gettin some reading done. Enjoyin the weather.


I was thinkin of one day just hoppin in the car and goin for a long drive anywhere, but not with gas at $3.09 a gallon.


I might take up jogging again. This trail by my house is dirt covered in bark chips, thinkin it would reduce the impact to the knees.

I'm hoping we get to go camping at some point, but it sounds like it'll be a couple weeks yet before we even consider it. And then we plan to take a couple days to go to the Indy Childrens Museum for our anniversary (because we're little kids anyway). Other than that, we don't have a whole lot planned. I would like to take a boat or kayak out to the lake, but that involves somehow acquiring a boat or kayak...

Other than the vacation this week we only have hubby's other family reunion that involves camping the 2nd week of August. We are just poor.

We were very serious about going up to South Dakota and seeing the Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, and meeting that family of cats that live there.

After our Lincoln/Omaha trip, we decided we probably better not try that yet with the boy if we didn't want to be turned in for abuse. With all the grumbling we endured during the stuff that was mostly for him, we're afraid a mostly sight-seeing trip might be too much for us.

If you ask her, I'm sure she remembers that we share the same anniversary date. We talked about it last year.


I'm just teasing . . . everyone knows that I'm WAY too old for Mz. I was celebrating my 16th anniversary the day Mz got married. This year will be 19 for us and if I remember correctly, 3 for Mz and Mr. Mz.
