Yeah Ruby, I'm fine. I was parked on a loading dock. When I came out I saw the Brinks driver standing there with a stupid look on his face. He took my rear bumper off, a nice deep scratch about three feet long on the side of the car

And in typical "this day and age" fashion had the unbeleivable nerve to try and jump on ME for parking next to him! Like it was MY FAULT he didn't drive ten feet forward before starting to turn!

That's it. Since they added this stop from hell at the Chase Plaza downtown I've gotten two parking tickets and now this in only four weeks. I'm telling them Monday they take it off my route immediately or I'm giving my two week notice.

lol, no JD.

I'm going to wait until Monday and call United Armor and find out how they want to handle it. They might want to just work through their insurance company, or even just pay to get it fixed.

Since it's such an OBVIOUS case of it being their drivers fault, I'm hoping we can avoid the whole my insurance your insurance thing. Because they'll raise my rates even though it wasn't my fault. They call em' "incidents" now so they can get away with that crap.

I'm also gonna see if I can just patch it up on my own. I don't really care about the cosmetics of the car, it's sole purpse is to pack on the mileage for this job. As long as the lights work and I can get the bumper back on I'd leave it as it is probably.

Of course, I'm not telling them that!

We did exchange insurance info and license info though. The cops wouldn't even come out because it wasn't an injury accident.

Yeah Web.

He knows he was 100% at fault and he's just grasping at straws to cover his butt with his company.

Gosh I knew about the nwe crappy rule about rates going up no matter whose fault. I hate that. Especially there was no way for you to avoid the accident But they do accident reports up there?

Praying it goes smooth for you.

well,

as long as you know he sees it as your fault, you know for parking in the designated spot next to him.... the nerve of you!

Nah JD, I'm calming down now so it's even less likely I'll want to go Soprano's on his butt.

But I'll tell you, I'm seriously thinking that if the armored car company won't handle this on their own or with only their insurance company I may just do nothing about it. I will not let my record be tarnished when I wasn't even present at the accident scene!

I am getting that part of my route dropped though.

ok.

that may be the smart move.

not goin sopranoes might be smart too. It don't feel right, but its smart.

OH. girl is an office manager for a law firm by the way. And these folks are friends. sure you weren't in the car? hows that neck feel.....need to borrow a brace???

I know how you feel about stuff like that, but I think in this case, if you are given any sort of hassle, being the victim here, the law might want you to win.

somethin to think about. these cats are bored.....

Riggs- Call them PLEASE. It would definitely be worth it. At least talk to them and see what they say. They would not want their insurance to go up either and if you let them know you drive for a living too, you might just get a break. If you do not call- JD will!

Sparky, as I'm sure you expected, the truck did just fine. The thing is, I bet the guy never even saw me there. His side mirror is about 2 feet or more above the roof of my car. Jack*ss probably didn't know i was there until he heard it.

I'll call the armored car company on Monday and see what kind of attitude they give me. Hopefully they're willing to take care of the situation, if not then maybe a lawyer will be called for.

Oh don't be sad Riggs. I started letting my ticket this am ruin my day. But I counted my blessing. I have a car, money for the ticket (that could be spent better, but then again the city needs it) and that the police are keeping the roads safe. Plus at least you still drive, you were not hurt and you had something to start a thread about!

Will pray for some peace to come your way.

You know Ruby, it's more than just the car. This just is a reminder of how I'm not where I want to be.

A few years ago I had two thriving businesses. Now I just feel kind of lost. I knew this was a horrible add to the route but I just accepted it and I've paid a price for it with the tickets and now the accident.

I could always go after a better job, but if I do then I'm sealing my doom on getting a business going again because I know once I'm working a 9 - 5 I won't be likely to get anything else going.

When I took this job I told myself it was just temporary until I get something started again, but when I started my other businesses ten years ago I was full of confidence and quite fearless. Now I find myself overthinking everything.

"Can't" was never part of my mindset, now I'm afraid it's a very big part of it.

Ugh.

I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow. Tonight I just feel like somehow I made a very wrong turn two or three years ago

You know Sparky, South Dakota is anther thing depressing me. If I didn't feel so responsible toward my mother I would move there today. But with her not driving I can't possibly leave her in WI alone. There's still my sister, but she talks seriously about moving to Nevada.

Anyway, you're right. It will all look better to me tomorrow. But I do have to get my rear in gear and move forward on my next business idea.

You had a bad day yesterday? Anything specific? I don't recall you mentioning anything, but then my mind is a mess right now so I may just be blocking

Also it might help if you painted a pink stripe on it, yellow just doesn't quite get it.

Yeah, maybe I'll stop at Office Depot tomorrow and have the whole car wrapped in bubblewrap! That would do the trick!

HEY!

I heard you had a GREAT day in the market though?!?

Up over 200 points, I'm not surprised!

Do you do some day-trading or are you all long-term investment? I asked AllyCat but she said she never asks because it makes her too nervous to know what you're doing.

its allright riggs- somethin like the accident tonight is gonna trigger all that stuff in the head. I remember I hit a low point years ago and the only words of consolation were "you'll get past it". I didn't feel it at the time, but yea, it was so true. March through it! be a trooper!

here's another. no matter what's getting you now, cheer up. in 5 yrs you will have graduated onto a whole nother level of issues and today will have been forgotten or simply remembered as the good old days! er.....cheer up because of that....

It's funny you bring up that last point. That's actually a tool I use to get through anything I don't like.

Like if I have a dentist appointment and I'm sitting in the chair anticipating a drilling or a pulling or whatever, I just think that in two weeks this moment will be an insignificant memory. That really does work!

Thanks for reminding me man!
