I saw a big fireworks display the opening night of summerfest, and tonight was the huge one downtown. from my window I could see the ones they were shooting off of the top of the bank one building & they broadcasted this one on tv...


I like fireworks.


but right now someone is shooting off firecrackers, m-80s whatever on the other block. I can't help but duck thinking if its a gun or not. hate that, hope they stop soon. I think its still illegal to blow those off within city limits.....sure hope its not a nutcase celebrating the holiday with a gun....

I bet the BIG turkeys aren't home from the bar yet or summerfest yet. should get real loud about 2 am.......as much as I hate being woken up by a big thunderbolt overhead, I hate this worse!

Every year around this time I'll find two or three spent fireworks laying out on the lawn when I'm cutting it.

Makes me wonder what happens if we have a dry June/July one year

we have a dry year every year, and they still do it and it starts fires ect...the same story year after year.

Speaking of idiot kids.

When I came home tonight I noticed water running from the backyard to the road. The landlady is out of town for the week so I thought that was odd.

I went into the backyard, some stupid kids must have turned the hose on full-blast and it had been running for hours.

The entire backyard was under about 2 inches of water!

I never did crap like that when I was a kid. I'll never understand the need some kids feel to just be mean.

Now on the flipside, here's a funny one my sister was telling me about (See Erica, I tell them good things about you).

She has a couple guy friends that would go to say a Taco Bell drive through but after they ordered the food they wanted they'd let one guy out before driving up to the window.

When the clerk would hand the bag through the window to them the friend they let out would run between the car and the window, grab the bag and run off. Then the guys in the car would say "HEY! HE STOLE OUR FOOD" and they'd get a free second order of everything

Wrong I know. But FUNNY.

Apparantly one time the kid grabbed the bag and immediatly wiped out on the pavement. Now THAT would be even funnier!

I bet your sad you didn't think of that, the only thing they do here is dine-n-dash there are a few places that after 10 at night they make you pay your bill before they bring your food.

yea the greasy spoon over here makes you pay up front 9 pm to 6 am. It discourages the drunks. Plus I think there is a night time menu too where they charge $1.99 for what is ordinarily a 78 cent burger. The drunk premium. "Sure, come here, be an a$$, but you will pay up front, and you will pay dearly!" brilliant!!


I am finding a lot of things to be brilliant tonight! that's brilliant!

Our new interim pastor is coming in this week. We are getting an apartment ready for him. Yesterday afternoon we were moving the rest of the furnishings into the apartment and when we got there, there was a kid sitting there doing some pretty loud fire crackers. He was just doing one after another, light, BANG!, light, BANG!. The whole time we were there, he kept going.

The very next apartment to where he was lighting his firecrackers had a sign on the door that said "Day Sleeper".
