RE: Rockstar:SUPERNOVA

WOO - DON'T READ UNTIL YOU WATCH YOUR TAPE!

Dedication

He LS- I wanna comment...I actually thought Jill (blond screamer) did the worst last night. Zayra 2nd, and the skunk 3rd. I thought the piano rocked as well as witchy woman. Your thoughts?

I think Jill is the best 80's rock chick singer they have.  She could've been in Femme Fatale or Vixen or something.  She has the voice - a really great rock voice, especially for that style.  And she has the look, too.  But I agree that her arrangement of "Don't You (Forget About Me)" was too over-the-top, and I knew they wouldn't like it.

Zayra was once again hideous.  And off-key.  And the guys were laughing.  It's like they wanna keep her just to watch the trainwreck...

Piano song was wonderful.

Witchy Woman (Dilana) -sp? was great, too.

"The Skunk" - Yes, I usually enjoy his performances, but he was lame last night - kept singing to the drummer.

Nice of Tommy & the boys to fly out the guy's family, too.

Unfortunatley, it looks like Butch Walker will not be returning to the show .  He said the editing made him look bad. (?)  Although he still plans to produce the album.  It's funny - all during that first episode, my husband kept saying, "They have the ultimate frontman sitting right there!"  True - Butch would be the perfect choice - certainly one of the best frontmen I've ever seen!

I have a feeling Dilana is going to be there until the end. I can definately see her as a front m woman for this group.

Re: Supernova. I agreed with D.Navarro. It'll be hard to front those three bigger than life guys. I'll definitely keep watching. Unfortunately, Tuesdays are the only night I watch. I have mid-week Bible study on Wednesdays.

Hey LS- Ha Ha to the VCR/DVD comment!! I\'ve found www.cbs.com/rockstar works well too.

Yes, it does, but it's nicer to watch it on a big TV!  (And thanks for playing Steinman!)

ok i am all caught up! I was sooo disappointed by Lukas' performance! i just love him! But i was very pleased with his statements. I was surprised that he wasn't in the bottom 3.

As usually I despise Z! Hubby couldn't watch her and decided to go use the bathroom!

I did like Jill's performance of Heart's song, but felt she started it a little strong. kinda over singing at first.

That guy (Josh?) that did the sublime song- nailed it!

I was very pleased that Ryan did good and got the encore. I'm not rooting for him but I felt bad about how it was going for him.

I too can see Dilana there till the end. She is very talented, seems to have a good personality and is versatile while remaining herself!

I just wanted to go ahead and post this now so hopefully I can read your responses tomorrow.  Still liking Dilana and agreeing with America that the other three s should be in the bottom.  I thought all of the guys did a good job tonight.  My least favorite is the squinty eyed kid that Tommy played with.  He's just not vibrant enough.  My favorites the skunk and Iceland's family guy.

Jill is so much better than being in the bottom. She's like the ultimate 80's chick singer. And she did great tonight. From what I could hear over my husband's giggling, Z was going off-key left & right. She always does, but finally Gilby called her on it. I've heard him tell others they were "pitchy", but then she comes out and is all over the map. It's about time he called her on it. My husband was saying Ian Hunter was probably laughing his drink out through his nose if he was watching. I always enjoy watching Tommy play, and he seemed to enjoy himself tonight. Ryan's "Paint It Black" was weird and out of character for an otherwise-boring personality. I don't know why Dave like it so much. Vocally, he was great, though, and I did dig the arrangement. Due to the voting hoopla in CT tonight, I missed a lot of the Iceman's performance, but I love that song, and what I heard sounded great. My husband predicted who the winner would be in the very first episode, and I'm curious to see if he'll be right. (So far, so good - that singer is still around...) I don't do predictions, but I do enjoy the ride... (Except for Z...)

ok again I caught up. I love Dilana, Lukas, Toby and Magni. They are awesome and hope that if they don't win they at least caught the eye of someone that can further their career. I cannot believe Z is still here! I thought hubby was going to break the tv. I think being on the phone with his parents saved the tv! I actually liked Josh's voice and was a little sad to see him go. I really don't think he was for Supernova but if I closed my eyes- I enjoyed his voice. One day his head is gonna bobble right on off! In the beginning I liked Jill, but I think she lost her way some. But she has talent. She deserves to still be here-not that stupid Z lady! I have no idea what Ryan was doing. I laughed through most of his performance. But not as bad as I did when Z sang Jenny Jenny. I dislike Patrice. I think I mainly don't like her personality. There's being confident, then there's just being a b*tch. There's my

One word, Dilana.

I can totally see her fronting the band. Lukas a close second. Now it will only depend on if the guys want a "chick" in front of them.

It's definitely different.  I watched it last night and there were some pretty good acts on there but then there were some that were just down right awful.  I also watch So You Think You Can Dance.

My rule, Waay is I will only watch a reality show if a rock star is on it. And this one features 2 we love: Gilby & Butch Walker (Although Butch will not be appearing anymore )

So no - I've not seen any of the other you've mentioned.

8/16 review-  All s but Dilana, please exit stage right.  I loved "In the Air Tonight" guy (does anybody else think he looks like the frontman from Coldplay?), IceMan, and of course Dilana.  Those are still my top three.  I like the other guys too, I'm just afraid they don't have a strong enough stage presence or aren't a good fit with the band's style and genre.  Except Skunk Man, he has a strong enough presence, he just doesn't have that y factor that I like in a front man.

Gotta run.  I'm late getting in the shower and getting the kids up and going.  I'll be peeking in at work for your all's opinions.

Boy they were harsh on Storm last night! My view on her is she's a goody goody trying to act all tough and play a hardcore rock chick. From day 1 I still say Dilana!

I love Dilana and Lucas!!  I cannot stand Zayra and I believe that America is trying to tell them something and they are just not listening.  I think they like the drama she brings to the show.

Oh and SG..... who's pants doesn't Tommy want to get in???

"I Will Survive" was horrible!  She was singing it way too low, and changing up the lyrics too much - it just totally sucked.  I don't think any girl with 400 tattoos could be classified as a "goody-goody".

My favorites are gone, so the show has become pretty anti-climatic for me.  Plus, my beloved Butch isn't going to return.

Lucas can't sing.  Good stage presence, but he can't sing.

There's no one there who deserves to be in a band with Tommy Lee - no one is dynamic or special enough.  I say my husband was right from the start - Have Butch front the band!

No, not saying that at all.  Clothes and headbanging can be 'put on', but I myself have yet to see a goody-goody girl with 65% of her body covered in tattoos.  Wait a second - you had long hair, and you cut it?!

I'm sorry to hear that you cut your hair for the man.

I like Jill a lot, but I agree that the performance of this wasn't the greatest.  And there were no back-up vocals.  How can you have this song without the cool background vocals?!

I worked at a Pamida store (Kinda like k-mart) and because we were around conveyer belts we couldn't have anything dangling to operate them.
