RE: Rockstar:SUPERNOVA

I'm sorry to hear that you cut your hair for the man.

I worked at a Pamida store (Kinda like k-mart) and because we were around conveyer belts we couldn't have anything dangling to operate them.

I remember when I was a kid - a story in the news about a woman who worked in a factory.  The employees were supposed to have their hair tied up, but she had hers down, and it got caught in a machine, and ripped her scalp off.  I'll never forget that...

My review of last night's show:

First of all, what was up with the orange pancake make-up on Tommy & Gilby?!  Anyone else notice that?  And did you notice how you could see Gilby's tummy peeking out above his jeans?  (Man, he's looking good!)

I liked the original song, and it was nice to see them playing together.

Re: performances: Patrice kicked ass.  It was by far the best I’d ever seen her.  And I’m not usually moved by her at all.

Unfortunate that I had to sit through Ryan doing the Pickle-In-the-Mouth-Technique (As Butch calls it) before he opened up to yelling on “In the Air Tonight”

Re: elimination:  Finally!  Whoo-hoo!  (I'm gonna spell it with the "H" so our Woo doesn't think I'm calling to her...)

Oh but Woo Hoo is screaming with ya LS! Crazy Z is gone! YES! I liked her boots but that was it!

Love Dilana as usual.

Magni gave me chills during his last performance.

I still love Lukas. I was in awe to finally see him smile.

Oh and I actually liked Ryan doing "In The Air Tonight". But I liked his encore better than the first time.

Magni was great - you're right. And he was really into it. He had that energy at the end that makes your hands shake when you perform - it's not nerves and not for show, it's creative energy coming through.

Ryan bores me. He's so unrock & roll. Like does anyone believe that as he's stocking shelves at K-Mart or whatever he does, that he wears black nail polish? I mean, come on. Lukas - yeah, I could see that with him. He's more sincere in that way. And I just don't find the pickle routine makes for a pleasant sound.

Lukas looked better than I'd ever seen him look.

Just so ya all know. I have not seen this weeks shows yet. Hubby wouldn't let me watch because he figured his parents wouldn't want to see it. Maybe I will get to see them tonight.

Let me know when you have seen them.  On Tuesday Gilby had his doggie with him (cute.), although he had that orange-y makeup on again that totally doesn't match his hands or chest.  (I wish those makeup people would pay a little more attention...)

Dedication

So did I miss fireworks last night on Supernova. The website made it sound like Dilana turned into a B*&@*.

Dedicated by
   Tennessee Girl

You don't have it on tape?  OK - here's the basic deal.

They showed footage of the singers hangin out at the house, and she said to Ryan how his performance "would've been nothing" without the great house band.  And Ryan was like, Why do you have to be negative?  Can't you say 'You were great, and so was the house band'?  Jeez!  And she did display some attitude.

The other bit was interviews.  The singers were interviewed by different interviewers, who asked some of them about the other singers.  Whereas the smart ones said "I don't wanna diss anyone in this house", Dilana went on about people.  One of the things she said was Lukas is like 2 different people, hinting at his being a phony, I guess.  And she said she could relate - she felt like a mother dove, wanting to take him under her wing.  He didn't care for that at all.  He said he doesn't need a mother dove - he can take care of himself.  She was also asked by an interviewer who she thought wouldn't make it, and she said Magni wouldn't b/c he was too family oriented, and something about Toby not being all that committed either... Anyway, when Dave N. gave her crap for saying such things in an interview, she said she's new at this sort of thing, and will consider it a learning experience.  I guess that was about it.  Drumming up some drama between the housemates, since there are so few contestants left, and they need to fill time.

I think Dilana is starting to loose it....and turning off the guys...I'm thinking it's now Ryan's to loose...with Magni as 2nd choice

Turning off the guys?  With those spikes sticking out of her chin, how could she possibly be turning off the guys?

I didn't say the guys didn't want to do her...or didin't "turn them on"...just her attitude...and if she goes on the road with them, imagine the trouble they could be in for.....

I know, I was just joking.  There are already tour dates booked - they're gonna be playing at a nearby venue I go to.

Ok I got caught up last night. Dang Dilana was something else! She showed another side of her. She has always been so supportive. Now I know how your words can be twisted so I'm not totally buyig everything- but still.

I really liked Ryan's performance and song the best. There were times I was laughing at his craziness but it was still entertaining. I didn't care for Dilana's performance. But she was showing a softer side. So it was still good.

I didn't know Lukas' song but hubby did and said that he did a good job. I was yelling at him to quit singing to the band. And wasn't surprised when he got called on it. Hello the band won't be paying for tickets! But I still love him!

I was glad to see Patrice go. She was ok, but just didn't have a strong voice and didn't seem to be too versatile.

The upcoming weeks will be hard for me because I like so many of them. However both me & hubby say that we won't be too upset if Storm leaves. She's ok we just don't think that she is really right for the band. Maybe if we get to see her play with them it will be different. Who knows.

I just wanted to get my two cents in first thing since I won't be posting while at work tomorrow.  I thought tonight EVERYBODY was awesome.  I agreed with the bottom three.  Even thought I liked Storm better tonight than any other week, she's still the weakest link of the remaining singers.  It will be hard from here.  I've moved Toby up to 3rd now, with Magni 2nd, and Dilana 1st.

every one was real good last night.....

Storm was the weakest....

Not sure how Dilana's big mouth is gonna fly with the guys, regardless of what they said!

Yes, I think we may be saying goodbye to Storm tonight.  She couldn't sing that song very well - it's too difficult for her.  (She ain't no Jill!)

alright I am caught up again! Performance night was awesome! I almost want to get a new tape so I don't have to tape over it!

I was all prepared for Storm to go, but I guess I disagree with you guys and I think she did a good job with the song. She did not pick it and was not familiar with it. I think it is really hard to sing and she did the best she could with it. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I liked that Toby helped out too. I don't think he was trying to steal anything away from her.

I really didn't like any of the bottom 3's 2nd performances. It was just a lot of jumping around and stuff. From here on out it is going to be hard for me to watch them go. I really like everyone. I liked Ryan too. Although he is weird. i won't be too bothered by Storm leaving but after that.

Hubby said "Your gonna cry! You're already crying!"  I was not! But it will be sad. I just hope that those that deserve a shot elsewhere get one.

Hello- Well, I wanted to speak up for my first time in here.

I loved the performances night.  The outstanding acts for me were... Dilana, Toby, and Lukas, in no particular order.  I do not care for Magni as front man, he is a nice guy but I do not see him with Supernova.  I also like Ryan when he does the ballads behind the piano but I was glad to see him go so that he can be his own artist.  Storm is getting on my nerves, she can sing but not for Supernova and I really do not see her making an album either.  Lukas is great but I do not think that he is the frontman for the band either.  I do believe that it will be between Dilana and Toby.  One of my co-workers say that Toby is going to win because Tommy wants all his leftovers.  (Which may be true since he did say on performance night "grab the girls and come to my dressing room after the show".)  She also thinks, like I do that Gilby just wants Toby!!

Well, there is my opinions.  Thanks for listening.  Have a wonderful week until the next show!!

Wednesday's performances stunk!

Lukas showed me that he won't be the lead singer of Supernova as his performance of a nothing song was...how do you say....lousy!

I agreed that Ryan wasn't right for the band, but neither is Storm (although she might be the first female to rip her clothes off to keep alive).

To me it's now Magni's or Toby's to win....

Whatca think??

i have no predictions. I like them all but Storm. She just doesn't seem right for them. Everytime I'm nervous about the song they are going to do, they go out and surprise me.

Hubby had reservations about Toby doing "Rebel Yell" (which is one of my favorite songs and is also my ringtone) but he kicked azz! At points I could close my eyes and not know that it wasn't Billy!

I really like Lukas though too! When he opens up and carries the notes- it's just awesome! And then he smiles- *sighs*

Magni has really grown on me too. I didn't care for him at first. I really liked when he did "Creep" which was I nervous about cuz I really liked when Lukas performed it.

Dilana I have always liked no matter what. But i guess she better toughin' up. Being under a microscope goes with the gig!

Yes, she did do the best she could with it, but for me that's the problem - it clearly showed her weaknesses. I still wonder why Toby did the backgrounds, when there are so many singers in the house band who could've handled it. Maybe it helped her to feel more secure with him there or something. ?

I really didn't like any of the bottom 3's 2nd performances. It was just a lot of jumping around and stuff.

Oh, absolutely! Lots of jumping around, screaming & yelling. Like desperate people trying too hard. To me, that's how it came off.

I don't think he can sing at all. He doesn't ever sing 2 notes in a row without a break inbetween. I don't think he has any idea how to even go about doing that. Not that he couldn't be the singer in this band, but I just don't care for his 'singing.' Do however, LOVE his smile! Especially when he does that cute wink thing, or the shy smile & look down thing... Very nice.

LS- well at least we agree on Lukas' smile!

I like Lukas' style and I like his sound but I don't know about him being right for this band. But I like him anyway.  I believe that he is still learning though.
