Ugh - going to be a looooooong day. I got all of a little over 2 hours of sleep last night. And alas, the second Pirates of the Carribean movie just doesn't hold a candle to the first.

It's still worth seeing, especially if you really liked the first one. There are some funny parts. But it really does get bogged down in the cgi graphics and really crawled at points. Lots of scenes where I think they were going for tension buildup was more like "speed it up guys" - it didn't have to be 2 and a half hours... The workfriend I went with is hoping it's like the Star Wars movies, where the middle one was a longwinded and boring character and plot development necessity for an awesome third movie. Unfortunately, I think the CGI people thought they had to make the new scary creatures more dark than the original movie's damned crew of skeletons. But IMHO they shot themselves in the foot by going so overboard with it, that it looks comical, not the stuff of nightmares like the first movie. It IS much darker than the first one - I don't recall seeing lots of death in the first one, but they make up for it in this one. It's a shame, I don't think my 8 year old will enjoy this one the way she enjoyed the first. I certainly won't be taking her to see it in the theater.

Friday all! I too am extremely tired. I know I slept well last night but the other night I didn't. I have to work tomorrow at Mom's because I can't afford to miss so much time.Sorry to hear about the Pirates Movie. We will probably see it this weekend.


Are we still having problems with the forum? All the threads look like they are new even after I look at them.
